Nancy R. Olley, age 76, passed away Thursday, June 12, 2008, at the Golden Living Center, Kenosha, WI. Nancy was born in Washington D.C., August 4, 1931, daughter of the late Alfred V. and Grace (Nee: Jarvis) Myers.
On December 27, 1956, in Washington, D.C., she was united in marriage to Raymond “Ray” L. Olley. Nancy was employed by Racine Unified School District for many years where she spent the majority of her career teaching 3rd grade at North Park Elementary School. She retired in 1983. Nancy was also a volunteer art teacher at St. Rita’s, St. Patrick’s, Sacred Heart Catholic Schools and Wustum Museum. She enjoyed reading books and gardening. Above all Nancy was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who will be deeply missed.
Survivors include her husband, Ray; her children, Gregory K. Olley, Shawn R. Olley, both of Franksville, Christopher P. (Jane) Olley of Racine; her four grandchildren, Allison, Luke, Jackson, and Katherine; sister, Dee (Ben) Sisemore of Stafford, VA; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Elaine Myers of Arlington, VA; Francis “Doc” Olley of Franksville, David (Gail) Olley of Kenosha, Sr. Michelle Olley, Sr. Betty Olley, of Racine, Gladys Olley of Caledonia; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Alfred V. Myers Jr.; and sister, Catherine C. Davis.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2201 Northwestern Avenue, Monday, June 16, 2008, 7:00 P.M. with Rev. Ronald O. Crewe officiating. Private interment will be held at Calvary Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church on Monday from 4:00 P.M. until 6:45 P.M. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Catherine’s High School Art Department have been suggested.
