ZEPHYRHILLS, FL - Robert (Bob) Emmett Gorman, 81, originally of Kansasville, WI, most currently residing in Zephyrhills, FL, passed away in Dade City, Florida, on June 4, 2008.
Bob was born to Emmett and Catherine Gorman on May 31, 1927, in Burlington.
Bob graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Burlington. He served in the United States Navy. On June 28, 1952 Bob married Joyce (Berens) at St. Joseph Church in Racine. Together they founded Racine Grain Company in 1960. Through this business venture, they made countless friendships. They continued to assist with the business which is now owned by his son and daughter-in-law Chris and Sue Gorman.
Bob was a member of the Knights of Columbus for more than 60 years. He enjoyed bowling, snowmobiling, golfing, and playing cards with friends.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce, and their children: Colleen Gorman-Frelka (Christopher) of Oak Creek, Kurt Gorman (Kathy) of Racine, Chris Gorman (Sue) of Racine, and Kellie Schoening (Bruce) of Sturtevant. Additionally, he is survived by his siblings Nancy (Ralph) Epping of Burlington, JoAnn Straka, Sturtevant, and Kathleen (Phil) Trimberger of Kansasville, WI, and his grandchildren Shanna (Nik) Ratzburg, and Patrick, Caitlin, Kyle, and Cara Gorman. He was greeted in Heaven by his parents, Emmett and Catherine, his son, Kevin Gorman, his brothers, Tom and Gene Gorman, and brother-in-law Frank Straka.
At Bob’s request, a private service will be held. Interment will be at Holy Cross Mausoleums in Racine.
Bob had the luck of the Irish. May God hold him in the palm of His hand.
