Betty Ann 'Onnie' Lannoye

Betty Ann Lannoye, “Onnie," age 77, passed away Sunday, June 27, 2010, at Wheaton Franciscan –All Saints Medical Center. Betty was born in Racine, February 3, 1933, daughter of the late Frank P. and Alice V. (Nee: Donovan) Lannoye.

Betty was a graduate of St. Edward’s Grade School and St. Catherine’s High School “Class of 1951.” She was last working at Surgitek and was previously employed at Webster Electric. Betty was an active, lifelong member of St. Edward Catholic Church, where she was a Greeter, and a member of the choir, Parish Council, Stewardship Committee and the Women of St. Edward’s. She was also involved with the R.E.S.T. Program, the St. Rose Meal Program and enjoyed baking cookies for the Christmas Fair. A lover of the arts she was a supporter of the Racine Art Museum and Wustum Museum. A talented artist herself, Onnie had a great flair for photography and ceramics. Above all she was a loving sister, aunt, dear friend and neighbor who will be dearly missed.

Survivors include her sisters, Phyllis (Norman) Miller, Beverly J. (Peter) Mandli, all of Racine; her brother, Richard C. Lannoye of Racine; sisters-in-law, Joan Lannoye of Kenosha, Juanita Lannoye of North Carolina; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her Infant sister, Marion Alice; sisters, Vivian R. Sanders, Marjorie Lannoye; brothers, Vernon K. Lannoye, Edmund D. Lannoye, and sister-in-law, Patricia Lannoye.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Edward Catholic Church, 1401 Grove Avenue, Tuesday, July 6, 2010, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Allen Bratkowski and Rev. Richard J. Molter concelebrating. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Saturday, July 3, 2010 from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. and at the church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until time of Mass at 11 a.m. Memorials to St. Edward Catholic Church or to St. Catherine’s High School have been suggested.

The family extends a special thank you to the entire staff  at Wheaton Franciscan-All Saints for their loving and compassionate care.
