Edwin O. Parkinson III

Edwin O. Parkinson III, age 66, passed away Thursday, June 10, 2010, at Aurora Medical Center, Kenosha, WI. Ed was born in Greenville, North Carolina, January 21, 1944, son of the late Edwin O. and Helen L. (Nee: Sawyer) Parkinson Jr.

Ed served in the United States Air Force for twenty-two years, retiring in 1986 as Master Sergeant. Following retirement he moved to Racine and has been an active member of the First United Methodist Church and choir. On May 10, 2009, on Mother’s Day he was united in marriage to Linda Shea Witonski. A political activist, Ed was a staunch supporter of the Republican Party. He enjoyed Fox News, Rush Limbaugh and a good debate. His family, church, and country were near and dear to him. Ed will be dearly missed.

Survivors include his wife, Linda; his children, Lou Parkinson of Alexandria, VA, Edwin O. Parkinson IV “Wynn” of Fayetteville, NC, Karen (Jamie) Foeckler of Racine; his grandchildren, Kaylee, Kyla, and Kaitria “KJ”; his stepchildren, Mark (Heather) Shea of Williams Bay, WI, Doug (Jill) Shea of McHenry, IL; his step-grandchildren, Haley, Cory, Bryn, Alyssa, Sydney, Sawyer; sister, Anne Parkinson of Greenville, NC; other relatives and many dear friends.

A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, June 15, 2010, at 4 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church, 745 Main St. Private interment with Full Military Honors will be held at Arlington National Cemetery, Virginia. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Tuesday at the church from 3 p.m. until time of service at 4 p.m. Memorials to the First United Methodist Church or the American Cancer Society have been suggested.
