Robert L. Hart

With his family by his side, Robert L. Hart, age 77, passed away Thursday, June 10, 2010, at his residence. Robert was born in Racine, July 12, 1932, son of the late Fred and Ida (Nee: Miljourn) Hart.

Robert proudly served in the United States Army. On August 18, 1956, at St. Patrick Catholic Church he was united in marriage to Helen Ammentorp. Robert was employed as a carpenter for forty-two years with various construction companies in the Racine area, mainly with Fergus Construction. He was a member of Local Union #161 for over fifty years. In his younger years he was a member of the Racine County Conservation League.

Upon retirement in 1993 he and his wife relocated to Arkansas where he loved spending his time fishing, observing wildlife and watching NASCAR. Above all he was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who will be dearly missed.

Survivors include his loving wife of 53 years, Helen; his children, Paula (Denny) Albright of Racine, Kathleen (George) Casaine of Boynton Beach, FL, Steven (Pamela) Hart of Racine, Wendy (Tony) Bohringer of Westfield, WI, Michael (Diane) Hart of Oak Creek, WI; 8 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; brother, Donald (Donna) Hart of Racine; sister, Cheryl (James) Fries of Pine River, WI; sister-in-law, Inez Hart of Racine; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Willis; and sisters, Jean (Tom) Smith, Grace (Bert) Rawerda, Marguerite (Louis) Governatori, Marlene (Lee) Schultz, and Pat Hardy.

A Memorial Service will be held Monday, June 14, 2010,  at noon at the funeral home with Robert’s grandson, Rev. Matt Rustin officiating. Private interment will be held. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Monday at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until time of service at noon. In lieu of flowers, memorials to one’s favorite charity have been suggested.
