Kathleen T. (Granger) DeBonis

Kathleen T. DeBonis, age 83, passed away early Saturday morning, June 26, 2010, at Wheaton Franciscan-All Saints Hospital. Kathleen was born in Racine February 19, 1927, daughter of the late Frank and Marion (nee: Thompson) Granger.

On August 27, 1949, she was united in marriage to Hugo J. DeBonis; they lived happily together for nearly 58 years until he preceded her in death on February 22, 2007. Kathleen was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She enjoyed her travels and was an avid bowler who loved time spent bowling with her friends for the past forty years. Kathleen was a loving mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed.

Survivors include her three sons, John (Sandy) DeBonis, Robert (MaryBeth) DeBonis, Michael (Sandy) DeBonis, all of Racine; grandchildren, Nicholas, Anthony, Gina, Matthew and Timothy; brother, Frank (Jean) Granger of Waukesha; brothers-in-law, Arnold DeBonis of Racine; Edward Kaisler of MN; her beloved pet and companion, Jet; nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. In addition to her parents, and husband Hugo, Kathleen was also preceded in death by four sisters, Lucille Spranger, Doris Kaisler, Betty Ade and Claire Harris.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2201 Northwestern Ave., on Tuesday June 29, 2010, at 10:30 a.m., with Rev. Ronald O. Crewe officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until 10:15 a.m. Memorials to Wheaton Franciscan-All Saints Hospice or to the Alzheimer’s Foundation have been suggested.

The family extends a special thank you to Dr. Calderwood and the entire staff at WF-All Saints for all of their loving and compassionate care.
