Martin B. Lorenz

Martin B. Lorenz, age 76, passed away peacefully Monday morning, August 23, 2010, at his residence. Martin was born in Chicago, IL, on December 3, 1933, son of the late Fred and Elsbeth (nee: Stoessel) Lorenz.

Martin was attending Beloit College until he was called to service in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. On November 24, 1985, he was united in marriage to Judith Wright Noel in Buffalo Grove, Il. Throughout his life, Marty was a creative self-employed salesman and inventor. Marty also enjoyed sailing, golfing, dining and the Chicago Bears and Cubs. Above all, he loved his family. Marty will be dearly missed.

Survivors include his loving wife Judith; 10 children, Deborah Feddor, Marty (Stacey) Lorenz, David (Penny) Oliger, Nancy (Jim) Fox, Dan (Paula) Oliger, Kathryn (Ralph) Rasmussen, Karla (Douglas) Rog, Diane Vulpio, Jeff (Patricia) Brannan, Jean (Daniel) Danacker; 34 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; sister, Carla Filipetti; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, Marty was also preceded in death by his step-son, Matthew Christopher Brannan.

All are welcome to meet with the family at the funeral home Thursday afternoon, August 26, 2010, from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. when there will be a time of remembering and celebrating Marty’s life. In lieu of flowers memorials to the ALS Society have been suggested
