Beverly 'BeB' D. (Snow) Zagar

Beverly “BeB” D. Zagar (nee Snow) passed away at WFH-All Saints on Sunday, October 14, 2012, after a very long, courageous battle with cancer.  Bev was born October 5, 1932, in a small town called Milton Freewater, Oregon, a place she always called “Gods’ Country.”  On St. Patrick’s Day, March 17, 1957, in Fairfield, California, she was united in marriage to Richard “Dick” W. Zagar.

Bev was a true country girl who was passionate about reading, knitting, crocheting, cooking, gardening, horses, traveling, country music and the Green Bay Packers.  More than anything, she loved spending time with her children and family, but mostly her two grandchildren, Brandon and Samantha Benko.  They were her pride and joy and her greatest gift.   In her last days she wanted them to know that she loves them very much, she and Papa are so proud of them, to stay strong, and keep their Faith.

She is survived by her children, Michael Zagar, Robin Zagar, Teri (Bill) Benko, and Patrick Zagar, all of Racine; her two grandchildren Brandon and Samantha Benko; brothers-in-laws and sisters-in-laws, Suzanne (Gene) Schatzman, of Racine, James (Judith) Zagar of Almagordo, New Mexico, Sherry Gottfredsen of Racine, Gary (Donna) Zagar of Colorado Springs, CO; Fred White of Hatfield, WI, all her nieces, nephews, family and dearest friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Dick Zagar; her Father, Guy Bickner Snow "Bick"; Father-in-law & Mother-in-law Anthony and Elenore Zagar; her Aunt, Ladonna (Doni) Hauck; brother-in-law, Robert (Bob) Gottfredsen, Jr.; sister-in-law, Sandra White; and her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Theodore and Barbara Zagar.

Bev will be dearly missed.

A private gathering will be held for family and friends.

Bev’s family would like to sincerely thank Dr. Paul Durbin for his many, many years of compassionate care he gave our Mom as well as Dr. Michael Ansani, Dr. Richard Odders, Dr. James Taylor, Dr. Laura Ulmer, the nursing staff on CVI 2 and the entire WFH-All Saints cancer center staff.
