Bobbie Smith Garth

Bobbie Smith Garth, age 69, passed away Saturday, October 13, 2012, at her home.  She was born to the late Ollie and Lucinda (Nee:  Hughes) Ezell on November 29, 1942, in Okalona, Mississippi.

Bobbie was united in marriage to Norman Smith Sr. and to this union two children were born.   Later she married Joe Simpson Garth, who preceded her in death.  Bobbie leaves to cherish her memories her children, Norman Smith Jr. of Racine, Pamela Smith Simmons of Racine; her two grandchildren whom she loved more than life itself, “Hey boy” Kortland Wayne Simmons of Norfolk, VA USA Navy, “Jack Rabbit” Kohle Wesley Simmons of Oshkosh, WI; sisters, Madie B. Riley of Racine, Adelia Hodges, Mable James, Ruth Ezell, Nellie Ann Ezell, Hazel (Tommy) Ivy, Celia (Bishop Willie) Ware, all of Okalona, MS; brothers, Curtis Ezell, Willie (Ginger) Ezell, John Lee (Pearl) Ezell, all of Okalona, MS, Romer Mullens of Racine; special children, Timothy Smith of Chicago, IL, Terrance Smith of Jackson, MS, Shed James of Indianapolis, IN, Robert Gooden (Flash) of TN; special niece, Pee Pie Emma Jane Reader; great-niece, Walinda Riley.  Bobbie has a heap of sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, who also cherish her memories; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.  In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by her sister, Violet Lee Hughes; and brothers, Ollie Ezell Jr., Andrew Lee Mullens and Robert Dale Ezell (Teelee).

Funeral services will be held at the Searching Together Missionary Baptist Church, 825 21st St., on Saturday, October 20, 2012, at 9:30 a.m. with Rev. Elliott Cohen officiating.  Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park.  Relatives and friends may meet with the family Saturday at the church from 9 a.m. until time of service at 9:30 a.m.
