San Diego, CA -- Ryan Todd Olson, age 31, passed away Tuesday, October 16, 2012, in San Diego, California, while on one of his many adventures. Ryan was born in Racine on June 18, 1981, son of Todd D. Olson and Heidi M. (Nee: Joswig) Olson.
Ryan was passionate about his involvement with the AA community, leading meetings in prisons, churches, schools and homes. He was motivated by the desire to encourage others who struggled with addiction and helped many get “back on their feet.”
One of Ryan’s favorite places was Racine's North Beach. He loved being on Lake Michigan, whether it was during his lifeguarding years or boating with his family. He spent many summers vacationing at the family cabin in Manitowish Waters. Ryan was a very unique and creative individual, loved collecting Nike Air Jordans, artsy T-shirts, and Ray-Ban Sunglasses. He was an avid Packer and Bucks fan. He was admired for his passion for music, as his playlists were always sought after by family and friends.
Ryan would light up a room with his infectious smile and big blue eyes, have everyone laughing with his witty down-to-earth humor (even when not appropriate) which always came so naturally. There was never a dull moment when Ryan was present. He had a passion for learning and was drawn to adventure.
