Rose Marie (Holbik) Kandl

Rose M. Kandl, age 94, passed away Wednesday, November 28, 2012, at Willowcrest Care Center, South Milwaukee.  Rose was born in Racine on January 10, 1918, daughter of the late John M. and Frances (Nee:  Kovarik) Holbik.

Rose was a graduate of William Horlick High School.  She was united in marriage to Robert E. Kandl, Sr. in June 1937, at St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church; he preceded her in death on January 5, 1995.  She retired from Massey Ferguson, where she was employed as a key punch operator for twenty-three years.  After she retired she moved to Santa Barbara, California, with her husband where she volunteered for many years at St. Francis Hospital in Montecito, CA.  In 1985, she returned to Racine, where she would now spend time with her family and friends, shopping, luncheons and aerobics.  She was a devoted Christian and a longtime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Survivors include her daughter-in-law, JoAnn Kandl of Racine; three grandchildren, Michael S. (Anita) Kandl of Burlington, Jodie (Eric) Webber of Racine, Shelly (John) Mertins of Melbourne, FL; her ten great-grandchildren, Shannyn Kandl, Stephanie Kandl, Melissa Kandl, Shelby Kandl, Nichole Pitchford and Sean Pitchford, Jessica Gorman, Taylor Gorman, Andrew Mertins and Luke Mertins; and seven great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Irene Holbik; nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.  In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Robert E. Kandl, Jr.; her great-grandson, John Thomas Mertins; her brothers, Emil, Charles, John (Evelyne), Edward (Edith), Walter (Mary), and Frank; her sisters, Elsie (Thomas) Roberts and Helen Holbik.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, December 6, 2012, at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1533 Erie St., with Rev. Steve Varghese officiating.  Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Garden Mausoleum, Hwy 32.  Relatives and friends may meet with the family Thursday at the church from 10 a.m. until time of Mass at 11 a.m.

Grant 'Butch' W. Evans Sr.

Grant “Butch” W. Evans Sr., age 71, passed away Monday, November 26, 2012, at Wheaton Franciscan – All Saints Medical Center.  Grant was born in Chicago, IL, on July 23, 1941, son of the late John and Helen (Nee:  White) Evans.

Grant was a graduate of William Horlick High School “Class of 1960.”  On August 5, 1989, he was united in marriage to Mary Lou MIkulesky.  Grant retired from J.I. Case Company after thirty-five years of service.    An avid outdoorsman, Grant enjoyed deer hunting and fishing, and was a huge NASCAR fan.  He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Survivors include his loving wife of twenty-three years, Mary Lou; his three children, Grant (Sandra) Evans Jr., Alfred (Cherie) Evans, Natalie Evans; eleven grandchildren, Sherry (Oscar) Arguello, Michelle, Grant III, Joseph, Matthew, and Genessa Evans, Crystal and Dustin Costanzo, Marie Hadlock, Patricia Garcia, JoAnna Smart; fifteen great-grandchildren; three stepchildren, Ed Despins, Gene Despins, Larry Pedersen; seven step-grandchildren, Mark, Danny, Lexi, Mark, Riley, Marial, and Bradee; sister, Helen “Sis” M. Brook; brother, Jack (Beverly) Evans; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jim (Marilyn) Ratliff; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Roberta Mcfalane and Jill Mordja.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 1, 2012, at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home.  Interment will follow at Mound Cemetery.  Relatives and friends may meet with the family Friday at the funeral home from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. and Saturday at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until time of service at 9:30 a.m.

Warren L. Barrows

Warren L. Barrows, age 86, passed away Monday, November 26, 2012, at Wheaton-Franciscan All Saints Medical Center.  Warren was born in Racine on April 10, 1926, son of the late William and Viola (nee: Lentz) Barrows.

On January 5, 1957, he was united in marriage to Eula C. Miller at Gethsemane Lutheran Church, where he was a longtime member and member of their choir. Warren was employed by Eckmann Press Metal Company for thirty-six years, retiring in 1989. In his younger years he was an excellent softball player.  Later in life he enjoyed playing pool, horseshoes and bowling.  He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who will be dearly missed.

Survivors include his loving wife of fifty-five years, Eula; his children, Randy (Sonja) Barrows of Cambridge, MN, Scott (Judy) Barrows of Clearwater Beach, FL, Cameron Barrows of Racine; six grandchildren, Jason (Kari) Barrows, Eric (Jenny) Barrows, Jenny (Bill) Barnwell, Nicholas (Megan) Barrows, Brandon (Erin) Barrows, Amber Celeste; his ten great-grandchildren, Makenzie, Allison, Hailey, Cadance, Kayla, Carly, Brett, Bria, Bryce, Juda; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, LeRoy Bower of Sturtevant, Ralph and Delores Miller of Racine; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Phyllis (nee: Jensen); his brother, Donald, who was killed in World War II; and by his sister, Arlene Bower.

Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday November 30, 2012, at 1:30 p.m., with Rev. Jane Fryda officiating. Entombment with Full Military Honors will follow at Graceland Cemetery.  Relatives and friends may meet with the family Friday at the funeral home from noon until time of service at 1:30 p.m.

Leland Duff

Leland Duff, age 67, passed away Saturday, November 24, 2012, at his residence. Leland was born in Antigo, WI, on June 6, 1945, son of the late Robert and Ethel (Nee: Kolot) Duff.

Leland was employed by J.I. Case Company for thirty years, retiring in 1993. He enjoyed time spent volunteering at the Labor Center and frequenting various casinos with friends throughout the years. Leland will be best remembered as a loving father and grandfather, and will be dearly missed.

Survivors include his children, Ken (Sherri) Duff of Racine, Deanna “DeeDee” (Franco) Aluigi of Harrison Township, MI; five grandchildren, Nicole Duff (Tom Tishken), Sara (Dan) Robakowski, Jordan (Gina) Catrine, Dana Lacy, Danielle Aluigi (fiancé, Justin Regan); great-grandchildren, Brayden and Gavin Lacy; his loving companion of eighteen years, fiancée, Karen Wenzel, and her daughters, Renee Wenzel, Kim (William) Schaeffer; grandchildren, Nathan Walling (fiancée, Krista), Megan Walling, Carley and Collin Schaeffer; great-grandchildren, Damien and Katrina; brothers, Paul Duff of Racine, Ivan (Laurie) Duff of Antigo; sister-in-law, Gretchen Duff of Green Bay; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to his parents, Leland was preceded in death by his brother, Bruce; and sister-in-law, Pat Duff.

Sharon J. (Michalek) Rosman

Sharon Jean Rosman, age 73, passed away Saturday, November 24, 2012, at Wheaton Franciscan All Saints Medical Center, the day after her 55th wedding anniversary to her soul mate, Lyle. She was born in Racine on December 11, 1938, daughter of Charles and Bertha (nee: Yunker) Michalek.

Sharon attended William Horlick High School “Class of 1956.”  On November 23, 1957, she was united in marriage to Lyle J. Rosman. Sharon worked at Hamilton Beach and retired from In-Sink-Erator in 2000 after 33 years of service.

Sharon and Lyle loved to travel all over the world and had marvelous adventures together. Along with her dear cousin Diane and her husband, Dan, she and Lyle enjoyed many years of playing bridge and casino trips. Not only was Sharon a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she leaves with her family many cherished memories that will last a lifetime.

Surviving are her husband, Lyle; daughters, Dana Moes, Gail Rosman and husband Keven Krasny; grandchildren, Lauren Moes (Jeremy Harrop), Katie Moes (Dayne Szymandera), Nick Moes; great-grandchildren, Lilian and Tennison Harrop; Sharon’s sister, Betty Wellspring; and other relatives and dear friends.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, June Danake.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 28, 2012, from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. at Maresh-Meredith and Acklam Funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Jude’s Children Hospital have been suggested.

William O. Vandiford Jr.

Surrounded by his loving family, William O. Vandiford Jr., age 64, passed away Friday, November 23, 2012, at his residence. William was born in North Carolina on March 14, 1948, son of the late William O. and Hettie (Nee: Jones) Vandiford Sr.

A veteran of twenty years, William proudly served in the United States Navy in Vietnam. On December 12, 1970, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church he was united in marriage to Jackie L. Hudson. He was employed as an electrician at P.D.I. for many years. Known for using a dollar for a bookmark, William enjoyed reading his favorite books over and over. He was also passionate about playing World of Warcraft on the computer and engaging in lively debates over current events with his friends. Most of all, he was a loving and caring southern gentleman who will be deeply missed.

Survivors include his loving wife of forty-two years, Jackie; his three children, Mariah, Oscar and Rosa; brother, Cleo Vandiford; sister, Monica (Jimmy) Cayton; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Jeri Smith (Ray), Terri (Dave) Braun, Tammy Hudson; nieces, nephews, other relatives, many dear friends; and his late-night snacking buddy, Maggie. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Glenda Harper.

A private memorial service was held.

Timothy G. Kortendick

Sister Bay, WI -- Timothy George Kortendick, 55, formerly of Racine, passed away at his home in Sister Bay Wednesday morning, November 21, 2012, with his family at his side after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born on February 5, 1957, in Racine, the son of Kenneth George and Dorothy Ann (Hagner) Kortendick. Tim was a 1975 graduate of Horlick High School in Racine. On October 18, 1981, he married Heidi Lynn Wolter at Grace Lutheran Church in Racine.

Tim was employed with the family business in Racine, Better Building by Weather-Seal. He relocated to Door County where he worked for D.C. Interiors and Design for the past year.

Throughout his life, Tim preferred to keep his mind and body busy. He loved listening to music, eating good food, and traveling with close friends and family. He was also an avid reader who especially enjoyed biographies and books about history. As a skilled woodworker with high standards, Tim enjoyed building furniture and remodeling his living space. He also had a passion for Formula 1 Racing and was a member of the SCCA – Sports Car Club of America. His daughters will remember him for the dedication he showed in helping them to pursue their interests, his patient encouragement both in times of sadness and success, and his sense of humor, which was especially present when relaxing with his family.

Left to mourn Tim’s passing are his wife, Heidi; three daughters, Brittany of Racine, Alissa and Colleen, both of Boston, MA; parents, Kenneth and Dorothy Kortendick of Racine; brother, Andrew (Julie) Kortendick of Sturtevant; two sisters, Cindy (Jeff) DeMarb of Fond du Lac, and Susan Kortendick of Evanston, IL.

A memorial service will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, November 25, 2012, at Maresh-Meredith Funeral Home in Racine with Rev. Randall Poppe officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 5:30 p.m. until the time of services at 7:30 p.m.

Ursula M. (Schoeffler) Mace

Ursula M. Mace, age 60, passed away Wednesday, November 21, 2012, at Lakeshore Manor. Ursula was born in Gernsbach Germany, on January 25, 1952, daughter of the late Richard W. and Agnes (Née: Wimmer) Schoeffler.

She came to Racine when she was one year old and attended Hansche Grade School, Starbuck Middle School and Case High School. On June 24, 1972, at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church she was united in marriage to Steven E. Mace, who preceded her in death on September 9, 2003. After her marriage, she moved to Madison, where her husband attended college, and worked as a secretary to a group of lawyers until the birth of her first child. She then became an active and involved stay-at-home mother. After moving back to Racine when her children were young, she became ill and spent many years in nursing homes. Despite her infirmities, she had a cheerful personality and a great love for children and animals.

Survivors include her children, Stefanie (Steven) Kozina of Racine, Michael Mace of Chicago, IL; her grandchildren, Daniel, Jasmine and Brennan Kozina; her great-granddaughter, Amalia Kozina; sister, Brigitte (Alan) Groth of Racine; brother, Richard F. (Jean) Schoeffler of Fitchburg; nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 27, 2012, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Tuesday at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m.

LaVerne B. (Dallman) Kratochvil

LaVerne B. Kratochvil, age 88, passed away on Tuesday, November 20, 2012, at her residence.  LaVerne was born in Sturtevant, WI, March 27, 1924, daughter of the late Henry and Lydia (Nee:  Klaus) Dallman.

She was united in marriage to Richard J. Kratochvil on August 1, 1942; he preceded her in death on September 5, 1967.  LaVerne was employed by Walgreens for twenty-eight years.  She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and was actively involved with the Goodwill Foster Grandparent Program.  Above all, she was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother who will be dearly missed.

Jerome J. 'Jerry' Steiner

With his family by his side, Jerome J. “Jerry” Steiner, age 77, passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, November 20, 2012, at his residence. Jerry was born in Racine on February 16, 1935, son of the late Joseph B. and Verna (Nee: Sorensen) Steiner.

Jerry was a longtime member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and on October 5, 1968, he was united in marriage to Patricia A. Boyle. She preceded him in death on November 19, 2006. Jerry was employed by the City of Racine Public Works Department for many years and belonged to their “20 Year Club.” He cherished and devoted his life to his family and will be deeply missed.

Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas (Julie) Steiner of Kenosha, Mark (Jayne) Steiner of Kewaskum, WI, Michael (Jennifer) Steiner of Wauwatosa, WI; his five grandchildren, Laura, Alexander, Kathleen, Mackenzie and Kimberly; sister-in-law, Maryann Steiner (Dave) Melby of Union Grove; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brothers, LeRoy and Donald; and sister, Shirley Hardy.

Emilio S. Coca Jr.

Emilio S. Coca Jr., age 80, passed away on Tuesday, November 20, 2012. Emilio was born in San Antonio, Texas, on April 18, 1932, son of the late Emilio and Concepcion (Nee: Suvea) Coca Sr.

On July 25, 1949, in San Antonio, he was united in marriage to Celia Ramirez. He was employed by J.I. Case Company for thirty-four years, retiring in 1994. Emilio was ordained a Deacon in April of 1976. He was an active and devoted member of St. Patrick Catholic Church where he served as a deacon and where he and Celia were voted “Irish Couple of the Year” in 2001. He also served as deacon at Cristo Rey Catholic Church in Racine and St. James Catholic Church in Kenosha. He was instrumental with the family Christian movement with the church. Emilio enjoyed playing his guitar in various bands and served as choir director for many years. Above all, he cherished and devoted his life to his family. He will be dearly missed.

Survivors include his loving wife of sixty-three years, Celia; his children, Emilio (Doris) Coca III, Rudolph “Rudy” (Deborah) Coca, all of Racine, Jesse Coca (Fran Vega) of Burlington, Alfred Coca of Racine, Michelle (Fabian) Mier of Fayetteville, GA, Margaret Coca of Austin, TX; grandchildren Tim, Christine, Jon, Nick, Celia, Cynthia, Jesse Jr., Valentina, Victoria, Gabriela, Alicia, Samantha, Tessa, Drake, Nina, Justin, Emilee and Elena; 21 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Joe (Jane) Coca of GA, Anita Rangel, Connie Coca, Alicia Cantu of San Antonio, and Special Friend and Brother-in-Law Paul Quiroz of Racine; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. Paul Schmidt Jr.

Paul Schmidt Jr., age 91, passed away Tuesday, November 20, 2012, at Ridgewood Care Center. Paul was born in Bayview, WI, son of the late Paul and Mary (Nee: Herman) Schmidt Sr.

He grew up in South Milwaukee and served in the United States Navy stationed in Guam in World War II. On June 10, 1981, at St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church he was united in marriage to Cecelia R. Kozenski, who preceded him in death on August 28, 2009. Paul was employed by General Electric Company as an electrician for thirty-five years, retiring in 1982. He was a member of St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church and fifty-year member of Local 663 IBEW. Paul enjoyed bowling, golfing, and was an avid Green Bay Packer fan.

Survivors include his brother, Walter (Joann) Schmidt of Las Vegas, NV; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Anthony (Mary) Kozenski, Joseph Kozenski, Sylvester (Mary) Kowalski, Marie Skowronski, Lillian Neumann; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by an infant brother; brothers, Joseph and John Schmidt; sister, Irene Kowalski; brothers-in-law, Ben Skowronski, Wencel Kozenski, Clarence Neumann; and sister-in-law, Jolene Schmidt.

Esteban Cruz-Aguilar

Esteban Cruz-Aguilar, age 34, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, November 19, 2012, at his residence.  Esteban was born in Aguaél Gabriel-Atexcal, Pue. Mexico, August 3, 1978, son of Rogelio Cruz and Felipa Aguilar.

He was employed by Promotions Unlimited and was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife, Florencia; his three children, Wendy, Stephen and Emily; his parents, Rogelio and Felipa; brothers and sisters, Gorgonio (Tabatha) Cruz Aguilar, Delfina (Roberto) Hernandez, Rosalia Cruz Aguilar (fiancée, Drew Butterfield), Susana (Renee) Temaxte, Braulio Cruz Aguilar; his grandmother, Romalda Hernandez.

Linda A. (Griffin) Teschler

Linda A. Teschler, age 72, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, November 18, 2012, at her residence.  Linda was born in Racine on July 8, 1940, daughter of the late Oswald and Mildred (nee: Recob) Griffin.

Linda was a proud graduate of St. Catherine’s High School “Class of 1958.”   She retired in 2008 from BASF-formerly Johnson Polymer, and had been previously employed with EDS for many years.  Linda was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.  She enjoyed family outings and get-togethers.  She will be best remembered for her love and dedication to her family, especially caring for her mother. Linda will be dearly missed.

Survivors include her sons, Michael (Elizabeth) Horvath, Scott (Christina) Horvath; granddaughter, Callie Waters; sisters, Mary (Jim) Derderian, Susan (Terry) Toms, all of Racine; brother, Michael (Connie) Griffin of Eau Claire, WI; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1533 Erie St., on Friday November 23, 2012, at 11 a.m., with Rev. Steve Varghese officiating. Jeffrey L. Jensen

Jeffrey Leo Jensen, age 65, passed away Sunday, November 18, 2012, at Wheaton Franciscan All Saints Medical Center.  He was born in Racine on October 29, 1947, son of Jack and Elizabeth (Nee: Perfetto) Jensen.

Jeff graduated from Wm. Horlick High School “Class of  1966.”  He was a mason, retiring from Great Lakes Naval Base.  In 1972 he won the title of Wisconsin State Champion in a bricklaying contest.  Jeff enjoyed hunting and working on hotrods.  He had a love for animals, especially his dogs.  He will be dearly missed.

Surviving are his father, Jack Jensen of  Douglas, GA; sisters and brother, Cynthia (Dan) Heried of Shelbyville, KY, Celeste (Greg) Sturicz of Kenosha, WI, Albert (Suk) Kirschling of Navarre, FL, Jean (Greg) Macklin of Douglas, GA; Auntie Adeline Wensel; special cousin, Larry (Connie) Perfetto; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth Kirschling; step-mother, Joanie Jensen; and a nephew, Caleb Johnson.

Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday, November 23, 2012, at 11 a.m.   Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32.  Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Friday morning from 9:30 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m.  In lieu of flowers, memorials to Countryside Humane Society have been suggested.

Frances J. (Nordstrom) Petrick

Frances J. Petrick, age 92, passed away Sunday, November 18, 2012, at Walnut Grove Assisted Living Home. She was born in Thermopolis, WY, on June 4, 1920, daughter of the late Walter and Ethel Mae (Nee: Root) Nordstrom.

On February 1, 1941, Frances was united in marriage to Joseph Petrick, who preceded her in death. She and Joe were both retirees of the J.I. Case Co. Frances was an excellent cook and seamstress and enjoyed gardening. Above all she devoted her life to her family and will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Dianne (James) Udell; grandchildren, Lisa Udell and Michael Udell; sister Doris Pofahl; beloved great-grand dog, Bandit; nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she also was preceded in death by her sister and brothers-in-law, Arlene (Chris) Christensen, Richard Pofahl; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Regina (Stanley) Staszewski, Clara (Roy) Petersen, Nancy (Edward) Petrick, Rose (Max) Krueger.

Private funeral services were held with interment at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Town of Dover.

Alex F. Simpson

Alex Francis Simpson, age 80, passed away Saturday, November 17, 2012, at the Elizabeth Residence. He was born in Uniontown, PA, on October 14, 1932, son of the late Alex and Helen (Nee: Cole) Simpson of Hopwood, PA.

Alex graduated from North Union High School in 1950. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1952-1956. Returning to the Uniontown area he met the love of his life, Arlene Miller, and on June 1, 1957, they were united in marriage. Alex worked at the family business, Simpson Towel Supply, and went to Waynesburg College where he earned a degree in business management and became a Certified Public Accountant. He worked for Allegheny Ludlum Steel Co. for 8 years, first in Pittsburgh as an auditor, and then broadened his responsibilities into general management with a transfer to Rochester, MI. In 1970 he accepted a job from Modine Mfg Co. and moved to Racine. In 1987 Modine elected Alex executive vice president and chief operating officer. He attained the position of vice-chairman of the company before retiring in 1994.

He was a member of Trinity United Methodist church and had served on the finance committee. He had been a member of the Racine Country Club and the Somerset Club. Alex served on many boards, including the Parkside Benevolent Board, St. Luke’s Hospital, Nelson Industries, Racine Downtown Redevelopment, and Modine Mfg. Alex enjoyed golfing, jogging, history, geology and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He was a generous supporter of the Racine Community. Above all he was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who will be dearly missed.

Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Arlene; son, Eric (Michie) Simpson; daughter Luann J. Simpson; grandchildren, Lorna and Alex, all of Racine; brothers, Donald (Marcia) Simpson, William (Kathy) Simpson all of Hopwood, PA; nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Funeral services with full military honors will be held Saturday, November 24, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church, 3825 Erie St., with Reverend Roselind Dryver-Scott officiating. Private interment will be held at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet Saturday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Memorials to Hospice Alliance or the Alzheimer’s Assn for Research have been suggested.

Norbert H. Kosterman Sr.

Norbert H. Kosterman Sr., age 92, passed away Tuesday, November 13, 2012, at Ridgewood Care Center.  He was born October 14, 1920, in Racine to John B. and Oneita (Myers) Kosterman.

He attended St. John Nepomuk Grade School and William Horlick High School.  On January 25, 1947, he married Rosemary Filpi at St. Patrick’s church.  She preceded him in death in August 2007.  Norbert served in World War II as a Staff Sergeant in the Army Infantry 114th Division in France and Germany in intelligence and reconnaissance.  He was employed as a bookkeeper/accountant for several small businesses and retired from Wisconsin Natural Gas Co. after 21 years as an auditor.

As a young man he was a gymnast and sang in several choirs.  He loved to sing and harmonize.  He was an avid golfer well into his 80's and shot a hole-in-one at Johnson Park at age 80.  He enjoyed playing cards at the VFW and was largely responsible for teaching his children and grandchildren to play cribbage.

He was a member of St. Lucy’s Catholic Church.

Norbert is survived by his children, Norbert Jr. (the late Katy), Mary Jane (John) Braun, and James (Maria); grandchildren, Chris, Mike (Leigh), Matt (Sandy), Liz (Abe), Katie, Anne (Dave), Patrick (Courtney), BJ, and Melissa (Roosevelt); 14 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Gloria and Faris; nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Ambrose, Vince, Larry, Jerry and Mark; and sisters, Bernadine and Ursula.

In keeping with Norbert’s wishes, his body was donated to the Medical College of Wisconsin.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, November 27, 2012, at 6 p.m. at St. Lucy Catholic Church, 3101 Drexel Ave., with Rev. Mark R. Jones officiating.  Relatives and friends may meet with the family Tuesday at the church from 5 p.m. until time of Mass at 6 p.m., concluding with Full Military Honors.  Memorials may be made to St. Lucy Catholic Church or Wisconsin Right to Life.

Stephen R. Horvath

Surrounded by his loving family, Stephen R. Horvath, age 91, passed away Monday, November 12, 2012, at his residence. Stephen was born in Racine on May 12, 1921, son of the late Stephen and Mary (Nee: Vareb) Horvath and was a lifelong Racine resident.

Stephen was a graduate of William Horlick High School “Class of 1939.”  On April 25, 1942, at St. Matthew Catholic Church, Oak Creek, he was united in marriage to Frances C. Noll. He was employed by S.C. Johnson Wax for thirty-six years, retiring in 1981, and was proud of his numerous patents. Stephen was a member of St. Mary’s by the Lake Catholic Church. He was a charter board member and was instrumental with the building of St. Monica’s Senior Citizen Home. Stephen stayed active in the community and served as former Chairman and Supervisor of Caledonia. A man of many talents, he will be best remembered for his love and devotion to his family. He will be deeply missed.

Survivors include his loving wife of seventy years, Frances; his eight children, Stephen (Judy) Horvath, Barbara McClure, Daniel (Ellen) Horvath, Mary (Phil) Hines, Dr. Albert (Jane) Horvath, Frances (John) Ray, Patricia Horvath (Allan Oakes), David (Kathy) Horvath; 18 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Kowalsky, Irene Smith; sister-in-law, Anna Zurawski; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. Joseph J. Rudelich

Joseph J. Rudelich, age 90, passed away Sunday, November 11, 2012, at his residence.  Joseph was born in Racine on December 8, 1921, son of the late Joseph J.  and Louise Rudelich.

Joseph was a graduate of St. Catherine’s High School “Class of 1939.”  During World War II he proudly served in the United States Marine Corps while stationed in the South Pacific.  On May 15, 1948, he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Lucille Catapano, who preceded him in death, January 31, 2011.  They enjoyed almost 63 years together.  He was last working at the Racine Water Department for over twenty years, until his retirement in 1986.

Survivors include his sons, Michael Rudelich of New York, NY, and Joseph Rudelich of Racine; his grandchildren: Ashleigh Rudelich, Jennifer Rudelich, both of Racine, Jason Rudelich of Grafton, Melissa (Artie) Harmann of Sturtevant; his great-granddaughter, Ella Harmann; sister, Mary Geary of New Mexico; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Michael Catapano, Ralph Catapano, Adeline Benscricutto of Racine.  In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his son, Mark Rudelich; brothers, Nicholas and Rudy.

Margaret E. (Hamata) Groulik

Margaret E. Groulik, age 97, passed away Sunday, November 11, 2012, at Lakeshore Manor.  Margaret was born in Racine on August 20, 1915, daughter of the late Joseph C. and Estelle K. (Nee:  Kennedy) Hamata Sr.

Margaret was a graduate of St. Catherine’s High School “Class of 1932.”  On January 17, 1950, she was united in marriage to Lawrence A. Groulik, who preceded her in death on September 14, 1982.  Margaret was a member of St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church.  She was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be greatly missed.

Joseph A. Lawrence Jr.

Surrounded by his loving family, Joseph A. Lawrence Jr., age 91, passed away Friday, November 9, 2012, at his residence.  Joe was born in Racine on January 10, 1921, son of the late Joseph A. and Helen (Nee:  Drummond) Lawrence, Sr.

Joe graduated from Washington Park High School “Class of 1939” and with a Bachelor of Arts Degree from UW-Madison in 1943, where he was also a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity.  During World War II, he proudly served in the United States Marine Corps.  In 1943 Joe joined his father in the clothing business. He owned and operated, Jos. Lawrence, Inc., on Monument Square from 1965-1991, until his retirement at 70 years of age.

On March 8, 1947, he was united in marriage to Cynthia “Cynie” A. Hood at St. John’s Chapel DeKoven.  He was a member of St. John’s Divine in Burlington.  Joseph served in numerous community organizations including: President of the Racine American Red Cross, Racine Chamber of Commerce, 13 years as a board member for the First Wisconsin Bank, and President of the Racine Downtown Association.  He was named to the Wisconsin Apparel Club’s Merchant Hall of Fame. A sailor at heart, Joe also enjoyed downhill skiing, golfing, and the twenty-plus winters he and Cynie spent in Tucson, AZ.  During his youth, Joe spent summers on Brown’s Lake and he and Cynie lived on the lake for over 30 years, where he was affectionately known as “The Mayor of Brown’s Lake.”  More than anything, he cherished time spent with his family and they will miss him dearly.

Survivors include his loving wife of sixty-five years, Cynie; his children, Joseph Lawrence (Bonnie Bellehumeur) of Milwaukee, Lynn (Robert) Snyder of Tucson, Patricia (Robert) Sullivan of Burlington, Marc (Lilly) Lawrence of Kenosha; his grandchildren, Lisa (Steve) Thomas, Kimberly (Mark) Holman, Erin (Brian) Beres, Carlin (Nick) Arnold, Kristen Snyder, Lindsay (Kyle) Wormser, Megan (Josh) Goodman, Patrick (Sarah) Sullivan, Anne (Adam) Reesman, Mark Sullivan, Tim Sullivan, Kevin Lawrence, Brooke Lawrence; sixteen great-grandchildren, and many dear friends, including the Thursday morning breakfast club at Cliff’s Boathouse.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sisters, Helen (Dr. Gilbert) Wildman, Judy (Dale) May, Josephine (Harold) Brown; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Marion and J. Vincent Hood; daughter-in-law, Barbara Lawrence; and great-grandson, Kevin Thomas.

A Memorial Service will be held at St. John’s Chapel, DeKoven Center, 600 21st Street, on Tuesday, November 13, 2012, at 11:30 a.m.  Visitation from 10 a.m. until time of service. Frank S. Falaschi

Frank S. Falaschi, age 89, passed away Friday November 9, 2012, at his residence.  Frank was born in Racine on November 8, 1923, son of the late Alfred and Josephine (nee: Gallo) Falaschi.

During World War II, Frank proudly served in the U.S. Army, while stationed in the European Theater. On December 10, 1949, he married the love of his life, Bernardean D. Sharpe.  They shared fifty five years together before she passed away on August 14, 2004.

Frank was employed with Western publishing for forty-three years until his retirement in 1986.  He was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church.  A man short in stature, but big in heart, Frank loved to sing and dance with Bernie, and go golfing, hunting and fishing with his sons, family and friends. He will be dearly missed.

Survivors include his sons, Rocky (Janice) Falaschi, Gary (Elaine) Falaschi, Tim (Sally) Falaschi, Scott (Retta) Falaschi, Mark (Grace) Falaschi; his adopted son, Tom Hansen; 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; brother, Louie (Lucy) Falaschi; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  In addition to his parents and wife, Frank was also preceded in death by two brothers, Joe and Jimmy; and two sisters, Rosie Falaschi and Mary Porcaro.

William 'Bill' L. Zlevor

William “Bill” L. Zlevor, cherished husband, father and grandfather, age 82, passed away Friday, November 9, 2012, at Lakeshore Manor. Bill was born in Racine on April 14, 1930, son of the late William L. and Alice C. (Nee: Van Rooy) Zlevor.

Bill was a graduate of St. Catherine’s High School “Class of 1948,” as well as his wife, Elaine. Furthering his education, he graduated from Spencerian College, August of 1951, with a Bachelor's degree in  Business Administration. He was a member of the Pi Rho Zeta Business Fraternity.

On July 26, 1952, at St. Rita Catholic Church he was united in marriage to Elaine A. Schliesmann.

From September of 1951 to September of 1953 Bill proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. After graduating from Army Finance School, he served as an instructor for the Civil Service in military pay procedures at the pay centers in Indianapolis and St. Louis. After honorable discharge, Bill worked for the Ladish Company Tri-Clover Division as Assistant Chief Accountant. 

In 1958 Bill joined J.I. Case Company/Tenneco Company as a supervisor in the Accounting Department. He served as Case/Tenneco's representative on the Board of Directors of Batten International Airport from 1958 until 1992. In 1981 Bill was appointed Vice President and General Manager, Treasurer of Batten International Airport until his retirement in 1992. He acted as consultation for Batten Field from 1992 to 1996. Bill also owned and operated the Zlevor Accounting and Tax Service from 1960 to present.

Bill was actively involved in many organizations including: The Boy Scouts at St. John Nepomuk Church for several years where he also acted as a committee chairman for four years, EAA Chapter 838 Experimental Aircraft Association, The Catholic Veterans Color Guards for three years, American Legion Post 310, Racine Taxpayers Association, J.I. Case “20 Year Club,” and was a member of St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church and the National Society of Tax Professionals.

Bill’s interests included flying and traveling throughout the United States and Europe. His family was most important to him and he cherished many camping trips and time spent at the summer home on Spencer Lake, Waupaca, WI. He especially enjoyed time with his grandchildren. He will be deeply missed.

Donald E. Thompson

Donald E. Thompson, age 84, passed away on Thursday, November 8, 2012.  He was born in Racine, March 28, 1928, son of the late Earl and Jennie (Nee:Johnson) Thompson.

Donald served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Era.  He was employed by American Motors Corp. for 30 years, retiring as an inspector.  Don was a member of the American Cryptogram Assn. and was an avid photographer.  He will be missed.

He is survived by nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Blanche (John) Dahlstrom, Lillian (Almon) Heltsley, Florence (Charles) Tucker; and his longtime companion, Arlene Summers.

Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, November 15, 2012, at 1:30 p.m. with Reverend Walter Hermanns officiating.  Interment with full military honors will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park.

Catherine 'Katie' (George) Hilker

Catherine “Katie” Hilker, age 81, passed away Monday, November 5, 2012, at her residence. Catherine was born in Watersmeet, MI, on February 2, 1931, daughter of the late Vasilie “William” and Sultana (Nee: Maliarou) George.

Katie was a graduate of William Horlick High School “Class of 1949.” She married Robert Hilker, who preceded her in death. Katie was the executive secretary for former Racine Mayor Kenneth L. Huck from 1969-1973 and also for the president of Hamilton Beach for several years.

She had a profound love for the outdoors and maintained a vegetable garden that her father had planted and always cherished. This garden has wonderful memories for all of the children and grandchildren. She lived a simple life, had beautiful green eyes and a love of God! She was a member of the Kimissis Tis Theotokou Greek Orthodox Church and the Ladies Philoptochos Society. She will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her sisters, Grace Carravetta and Mary Parsons; and sister-in-law, Betty George. Aunt Kitty is further survived by many loving nieces and nephews and other relatives and dear friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her two brothers, Steve George and James George; and brothers-in-law, Frank Carravetta and Kenneth Parsons.

Funeral services will be held at the Kimissis Tis Theotokou Greek Orthodox Church, 1335 S. Green Bay Road, Hwy 31, on Monday, November 12, 2012, at 1 p.m. with Rev. John Ketchum officiating. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park.

Infant Tazari Woods received his wings Tuesday, November 6, 2012.  He was born on September 27, 2012, in Racine, son of Tavares Woods and Felicia Cook.

Survivors include his Father and Mother, Tavares and Felicia; three sisters; Tykila Hunter, Kierra Woods and Shianne Woods; aunts, uncles other relatives and many dear friends.  He was  preceded in death by his Grandmothers, Carolyn Farr and Faye Collier.

A Time of Reflection will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, November 14, 2012, at 11 a.m.  Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery.

Denim Donae Neal received her wings, Tuesday, November 6, 2012. She was born in Racine, October 2, 2012, daughter of Shavonda R. Gillespie and Donald J. Neal Jr.

Arlene M. (Farnsworth) Weber

Milwaukee -- Arlene Mae Weber passed away at her home on Sunday November 4, 2012, at the age of 75. She was born in Racine, Wisconsin, on August 17, 1937.

Arlene is survived by her two daughters, Lynn Marie Weber and Susan Leone Appleget; her two granddaughters, Shannon Lee Omdahl (Scheiss) and her husband, Nathan, and Kristen Elizabeth Appleget; four great-granddaughters Madison Omdahl, Katherine Omdahl, Brooklyn Omdahl, Gracy Rose Maldonado; one great-grandson, Joshua Richard Ruben Modl; one younger brother, Richard Farnsworth and wife, Barbara; one brother in-law, Le Roy Weber and wife, Rose Marie (Bolongia); four nephews, Mark Farnsworth, Ronald Farnsworth, James Farnsworth, Michael Weber; two nieces, Karen (Weber) Shelton, Patricia Weber; as well as several grand-nieces and nephews.

Arlene was preceded in death by her husband, Ruben, in November 2008; her mother, Dorothy Farnsworth (Van Marter); her father, Clarence Farnsworth; and her older brother, Clarence W.R. Farnsworth.

Arlene had been a lifelong resident of Racine until her retirement in January 1992 from Ametek-Lamb Electric. Upon retirement she and her husband, Ruben, built a new home in Hayward, WI, where they lived for ten years. In the fall of 2001 Arlene and Ruben sold their home in Hayward and moved to Milwaukee to live closer to their daughters.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 8, 2012, at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Private interment will be held at Graceland Cemetery. Relatives and friends are welcome to meet with the family for visitation on Thursday from 5 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Memorials to Locks of Love have been suggested by the family.

Carol M. (Herdt) Dose

Carol Marie (Herdt) Dose, 74, passed away Sunday morning, Nov. 4, at her home after battling cancer for six years.

The second of seven daughters of Alex and Marie (Sensenbrenner) Herdt, Carol was born in Milwaukee on March 29, 1938. At age 3, her family moved to Lancaster, WI, where she attended St. Clement’s Catholic Grade School and a year at Lancaster High School. The family moved to Racine in 1952. After graduating from St. Catherine's High School she worked at Lau shoe store in Downtown Racine and then as a bookkeeper at the Journal Times, where she met her husband, Emmert.

They were married May 21, 1966. After working first full-time and later part-time, Carol eventually became a full-time homemaker, but devoted much time to charity work, including the St. Catherine's Infirmary at Sienna Center, Habitat for Humanity, Tex Reynolds Toys for Tots, yardwork for an elderly widow, third grade religion class teacher at Sacred Heart and St. Paul the Apostle Catholic churches, and the Lighthouse Brigade Booster Club.

Her goal was to make a rosary a day and each month she sent a box of rosaries to priests and nuns in Asia and Ireland. She also taught her religion class pupils rosary-making.

Carol loved to knit and received blue ribbons for her afghans and baby blankets at area county fairs, as well as for her baked goods. She enjoyed sharing her fresh home-baked bread, coffee cakes and Christmas cookies with friends and relatives. Every June would find her picking strawberries and delivering berries, whipped topping and shortcakes to neighbors and friends.

Carol loved camping and traveling in the family RV throughout the United States and across Canada and every fall filling the RV with toys, clothing and household goods to take to Appalachia. And for the past 17 years, she and Emmert used their RV to host musicians at the Racine Zoo's Animal Crackers jazz series. Carol also enjoyed painting, going to casinos and visiting the farm in Minnesota where Emmert grew up.

She is survived by her husband, Emmert; her “My three sons,” Christopher and Jonathan of Racine and Jeffery (Laura) of Franklin; and grandchildren, Justin Dose and Ayla Dose.

Also surviving are her sisters, Dorothy Beyer of LaCrosse, Alice (Robert) Markus of Racine, Jean (Walter) Stobb of Fort Meyer, FL, Joan (the late Donald) Schinkowitch of Racine, Rita (Donald) Nienhaus of Racine and Margaret (Paul) Rice of Troy Mich. Carol was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be held Friday, November 9, 2012, at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. when funeral services will be held with Carol's grade school classmate, The Rev. William Seipp of Lancaster, WI, and Rev. Melanie Hammond-Clark officiating. Private interment will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. Memorials to one’s favorite charity have been suggested

Sister Agnes Marie Kohel, O.P.

Sister Agnes Marie Kohel, O.P., 92, passed away at Lakeshore Manor, Racine, on Sunday, November 4, 2012.

Lorraine Elizabeth was born July 7, 1920, to Carl and Agnes (nee: Veltus) Kohel in Racine, WI. On August 30, 1935, she joined the Racine Dominicans and at her reception in 1937 she was given the religious name Sister Agnes Marie. She professed her first vows in 1939 and her final vows in 1945.

Sister Agnes Marie spent many years in service to others as a teacher and as a principal. She began her ministry in 1939 at SS. Peter and Paul, Green Bay, WI. Other places in Wisconsin where she served were St. John, Little Chute; St. Victor, Monroe; Holy Cross, Kaukauna; St. Augustine, Wausaukee; St. Bernard, Madison; St. Mary, Tomah; St. Rose, Racine; St. Francis Xavier, Merrill; and St. Louis, Caledonia. From 1977 to 1984 she served as an Administrator at Our Lady of the Oaks, Pewaukee. After moving to Siena Center in 1984 she did Community Service. She became a resident at Lakeshore Manor, Racine in April, 2010.

Sister Agnes Marie is survived by the Racine Dominican Sisters and Associates; her brother, Lester (Jean); nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; and her brothers, Donald, Ralph, Charles and infant brother Everett; and sister, Lucille Toutant.

Visitation will be in the Siena Center Chapel on Thursday, November 8, 2012, beginning at 9 a.m. with a Remembering Service at 2:30 p.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 4 p.m. Interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery Hwy 32. Memorials to the Racine Dominican Mission Fund have been suggested.

Edith Isenberg

Portland, OR -- Edith Dorothy Isenberg, former Director of Student Health Services at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, passed away on Saturday, November 3, 2012, at Rose Schnitzer Manor in Portland, Oregon.

She was born in Stuttgart, Germany, on April 28, 1930, daughter of the late Hans and Else (nee Osterberg) Sternheim. Edith and her parents immigrated to the United States in 1939 as refugees of the Holocaust. Edith graduated from nursing school at Brooklyn Jewish Hospital in New York, NY, going on to graduate as a Registered Nurse from Milwaukee Area Technical College in Milwaukee, WI, and earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of St. Francis in Joliet, IL.

On November 23, 1950, she was united in marriage to Dr. Norbert Isenberg, Ph.D. Edith was very active in and gave to the community of Racine through her participation in many groups and organizations including the Racine Nurses Association, Beth Israel Sinai Temple Sisterhood, the Inter-Generational Arts Fairs, and the Retired Nurses Association. Her family includes her late loving husband of 53 years, Norbert (died in 2004); her three sons, Ralph (Nicole), Mark (Catie), and Jon; and daughter, Dr. Lori Stargrove (Mitch); 11 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought Edith much delight.

Funeral services will be held at Beth Israel Sinai Temple, 944 Main St., on Thursday, November 8 2012, at 11 a.m. with Rabbi Martyn Adelberg officiating. Interment will follow at the Racine Jewish Memorial Cemetery, 612 Lathrop Ave. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Beth Israel Sinai Temple and the Nurse’s Foundation of Racine for the University of Wisconsin-Parkside scholarship fund.

Martha 'Pat Krause' (Zizminskas) Latva

Martha Latva, affectionately known as Pat or Marti, entered eternal life on Saturday, November 3, 2012, age 93. Martha was born in Racine on May 11, 1919, daughter of the late Thomas and Barbara (nee: Yierger) Zizminskas.

Martha was a proud graduate of Wm. Horlick High School “Class of 1937." She was married to Frederick Krause on July 3, 1948, until his death on May 17, 1969. In the 1940s, Martha was employed as an analysis clerk with Wisconsin Gas and Electric. She later worked in the payroll department at Walker Mfg. for twenty years, before retiring in 1980.

She was united in marriage to Armas Latva on October 28, 1988. She was a member of St. Mary’s by the Lake Catholic Church, the Racine Garden Club, Women’s Sewing Club, YWCA and the Hi-Lo Dance Club. Martha volunteered with Meals on Wheels for many years. She cherished her longtime friends and enjoyed the card club they maintained over the years.

She found beauty and joy in her garden. Pound cakes and pumpkin pies were her specialty. She traveled with friends and took many wonderful trips with Armas after their marriage. Above all, Martha deeply loved her family and enjoyed giving of herself in many ways. She made everyone feel very special and will be dearly missed.

Survivors include her husband, Armas; her daughter, Kay (nee: Krause) Tonkin; sister-in-law, Evelyn Thomas, all of Racine; brother-in-law, Milton (Elsie) Latva and their daughter Jayne of New Berlin; nieces and nephews, Nina (Dennis) Porcaro of Racine, Julie Thomas of Houston, TX, Eileen (Ken) Fredricks of Malaysia, Kim (Malcolm) Fliege of CA, Paul (Judy) Schacht, Sandy (Don) Hansen, all of Racine; other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, Martha was also preceded in death by her beloved Aunt Agnes Zizminskas; brother, Vitas Thomas; infant brother, Adam; niece, Terri Halverson; great-niece, Callie Fredricks; sister-in-law, Mabel Schacht; brothers-in-law, Paul Schacht and Karl Krause.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary’s By the Lake Catholic Church, 7605 Lakeshore Drive, on Friday, November 9, 2012, at 11 a.m., with Rev. Stephen J. Stradinger officiating. Entombment will follow at Calvary Garden Crypts. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church Friday from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass. Memorials to St. Mary’s By the Lake Catholic Church or the Racine Garden Club have been suggested.

Mary K. (Katrosits) Iselin

Appleton, WI -- Mary K. Iselin, age 87, passed away Saturday, November 3, 2012, at Brewster Village in Appleton. After a lengthy, but gracious, struggle with Alzheimer’s, Mary is now in the arms of God. Mary was born in Racine on April 5, 1925, daughter of the late William and Victoria (Nee: Magditch) Katrosits.

After graduation from Wm. Horlick High School, Mary was employed by Johnson’s Wax. She had the voice of an angel and enjoyed her time in the Johnson Choir. Mary worked there until her marriage.

On October 9, 1948, she became the beautiful bride of the love of her life, Roger E. Iselin. They shared fifty-two happy years together, and on their fiftieth anniversary, they renewed their wedding vows at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Together, they enjoyed their times dancing, camping, curling, and travels to Hawaii, Europe and various cruises. Roger preceded her in death on January 6, 2001. Mary was very fond of dancing with her husband and had a strong affection for music. She also looked forward to her monthly card club with her friends. Mary was a tour guide at Porter’s of Racine furniture store and, after raising her five children, she worked part-time at Sears. More than anything, she cherished time with her family and participating in her children’s and grandchildren’s activities.

Mary was a gentle, compassionate and selfless person. She was a dedicated and loving mother and grandmother to her five children, their spouses, and her grandchildren, who will always remember her with love and gratitude.

Survivors include her children, Nancy (Tim) Collentine of Menasha, WI, William (Anne) Iselin of Delafield, WI, Charles (Carolee) Iselin of Portland, OR, Susan (Dan) Paulson of Racine, Sally (Randy) Reichert of Raymond, WI; her grandchildren, Patrick (Amy) Collentine, Kate (Michael) Kirchner, Andrew Paulson, Emma Marie Paulson; sister, Margaret Morrison of Michigan; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Pauline, Rose and Alma; and brothers, Steve, Joseph and an infant brother.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, November 10, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 1533 Erie St., with Rev. Steve Varghese officiating. Interment will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. A luncheon will follow. Relatives and friends may meet with the family from 9:30 a.m.  until mass at St. Joseph’s.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Alzheimer’s Association, 620 S. 76th St., Suite 160, Milwaukee, WI 53214 and ALS Association (Lou Gehrig’s Disease), 700 NE Multnomah St., Suite 870, Portland, OR would be appreciated.

We will miss you, dear Mom, but are delighted that you and Dad will be dancing once again.
