Margaret E. (Hamata) Groulik

Margaret E. Groulik, age 97, passed away Sunday, November 11, 2012, at Lakeshore Manor.  Margaret was born in Racine on August 20, 1915, daughter of the late Joseph C. and Estelle K. (Nee:  Kennedy) Hamata Sr.

Margaret was a graduate of St. Catherine’s High School “Class of 1932.”  On January 17, 1950, she was united in marriage to Lawrence A. Groulik, who preceded her in death on September 14, 1982.  Margaret was a member of St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church.  She was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be greatly missed.

Survivors include her children, Marian (Fred) Krumberger of Green Bay, Jean (Patrick) Hays of Charlottesville, VA, John (Debbie) Groulik of Fort Wayne, IN, Ann (David) Rost of Racine; seven grandchildren, Mark (Jenn) Groulik, Steven (Marcy) Groulik, Anna (Jason) Ringblom, Paul Krumberger, Lauren Rost, Andrew Rost, Jennifer Hays; four great-grandchildren, Holden Groulik, James Groulik, Madelyn and Bennett Ringblom; sister-in-law, Jean Hamata of Racine; niece, Jan (Russ) Zebell; other relatives and many dear friends.  In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Lynda; and brothers, Joseph and Arthur Hamata.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, November 17, 2012, at 10 a.m. at St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church, 1903 Green St.  Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32.  Relatives and friends may meet with the family Saturday at the church from 9 a.m. until time of Mass at 10 a.m.  In lieu of flowers, memorials St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church or to St. Catherine’s High School have been suggested.
