Jerome J. 'Jerry' Steiner

With his family by his side, Jerome J. “Jerry” Steiner, age 77, passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, November 20, 2012, at his residence. Jerry was born in Racine on February 16, 1935, son of the late Joseph B. and Verna (Nee: Sorensen) Steiner.

Jerry was a longtime member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and on October 5, 1968, he was united in marriage to Patricia A. Boyle. She preceded him in death on November 19, 2006. Jerry was employed by the City of Racine Public Works Department for many years and belonged to their “20 Year Club.” He cherished and devoted his life to his family and will be deeply missed.

Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas (Julie) Steiner of Kenosha, Mark (Jayne) Steiner of Kewaskum, WI, Michael (Jennifer) Steiner of Wauwatosa, WI; his five grandchildren, Laura, Alexander, Kathleen, Mackenzie and Kimberly; sister-in-law, Maryann Steiner (Dave) Melby of Union Grove; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brothers, LeRoy and Donald; and sister, Shirley Hardy.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, November 24, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2201 Northwestern Ave. Private interment will be held at Calvary Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Saturday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass at 11 a.m. Memorials to the American Lung Association have been suggested.
