Florence Welch, age 94, passed away Friday, March 12, 2010, at Allis Care Center, West Allis, WI. Florence was born in Racine, March 15, 1915, daughter of the late Richard and Katherine M. (Nee: Tyczkowski) Sulak.
Florence attended Janes School, Washington Junior High School, and graduated from William Horlick High School “Class of 1933.” She also attended Racine Vocational School. On June 30, 1951, she was united in marriage to Jerome R. Welch, who preceded her in death on September 11, 1971. Florence was employed for many years at Standard Furniture until her retirement in December of 1980. She was a member of St. Luke’s Hospital Auxiliary and Racine Zoological Society. Florence was an active volunteer at St. Luke’s Hospital and Lincoln Lutheran Center of Residential Care on Douglas Avenue.
Survivors include her nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her brother, Edward Sulak; and sisters, Lillian Perce and Helen Aller.
Private funeral services were held with interment at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery, Cudahy, WI.
