Sandy was born in Racine on March 30, 1943, to the late V. E. “Babe” and Irene “Pinky” (nee: Petersen) Martin and lived her entire life in Racine. She was united in marriage to Paul B. Brahm on March 4, 1967. He preceded her in death on June 20, 1980. She was later married to Erich A. Wagner on February 20, 1982.Sandy was a 1961 graduate of Washington Park High School and loved to help coordinate reunions. In her youth she loved to dance and was in many shows such as Kiltie Kapers, Kiwanis Shows, and Cardiac Capers as well as numerous school talent shows. After high school, she was employed at Jacobson Mfg., Massey Ferguson, and eventually retired from In-Sink-Erator Division after 26 years of service. She was also a member of the In-Sink-Erator 10 Year Club. She enjoyed golf, mainly for the fresh air and the outdoors. But most of all, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend who will be dearly missed by all.
Sandy is survived by her husband, Erich; daughter Justine Lee (Bill) Berta; son, John P. (Barbra) Brahm; granddaughter, Christie Lee Berta; step-granddaughter, Melissa Wagner step-grandsons, Brandon Wagner and Mike Wagner; sister, Patricia L. (Dennis) LaFave, and Vicki E. (Glen) Wade; nieces, Renae, Denise, Michelle; nephew, David; and in-laws, Kurt (Dolly) Wagner, Ernest Wagner, Christa Wagner and Erica (Steve) Hetland.
Funeral services for Sandy will be held at the Wilson Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Holly Anderle officiating. Interment will be at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family on Tuesday from 11:30 a.m. until the time of service.
