Alberta J. (DeRose) Lipari

Surrounded by her loving family, Alberta J. Lipari, passed away Monday, July 12, 2010, at Wheaton Franciscan-All Saints Medical Center. Alberta was born in Lappano, Italy, January 16, 1925, daughter of the late Ralph and Asunta (Nee: Cupizzano) DeRose and had moved to Racine with her family at a very young age.

Alberta was a graduate of William Horlick High School. On April 26, 1947, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church she was united in marriage to Dominic S. Lipari. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Vittoria Collona. Alberta  enjoyed time at casinos with family and friends playing the slots. She will forever be remembered as an excellent cook and baker. More than anything she cherished time spent with her family and friends, including the Blake Avenue gang, and will be dearly missed.

Survivors include her loving husband of 63 years, Dominic; her three children, Joseph (Connie) Lipari, Ralph (Sue) Lipari, all of Racine, Mary Sue Lipari of Los Gatos, CA; six grandchildren, Lisa Lipari, Kristina Lipari, Jessica Lipari, Christian (Christina) Wayne, Cody Onyon, Michael Onyon; four great-grandchildren, Hailey, Shaianne, Abrianna and Olivia; brothers and sister, Santo “Zuddy” (Sharon) DeRose, Josie (Don) Pfaffl, Joseph (Barbara) DeRose; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Anthony (Olivia) Lipari, Sarah DeRose, Mary Rizzo, Connie (Glenn) Kurhajec; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister and brothers-in-law, Mary and “Lucky” Hansen, Frank Rizzo, and Rocco DeRose.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, July 16, 2010, at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2201 Northwestern Ave., with Rev. Ronald O. Crewe officiating. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Garden Mausoleum, Hwy 32. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Thursday at the funeral home from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. (with a Vittoria Collona Service and a Rosary at 7 p.m.) and Friday at the church from 9 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. Memorials to the Susan B. Komen Foundation have been suggested.
