Jean Mabel Munch

Mrs. Jean M. (nee: Petersen) Munch, 84, passed away at WFH-All Saints on Friday July 2, 2010.

Jean was born in Racine to the late John Petersen and Mary Akers on November 2, 1925, and was a graduate of Horlick High School. On July 17, 1954, she was united in marriage to John E. Munch.

Jean was a homemaker who was very devoted to her family, especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed crafts, including ceramics, knitting and embroidery as well as solving crossword and jigsaw puzzles.

She is survived by her four children, John Munch Jr., Shelley (Gary) Siegel, Jeffery (Dennise) Munch and Debra Munch; seven grandchildren, Holly Munch, Alyssa Munch, Josh Siegel, Jordan Siegel, Landon Siegel, Deanna (Daniel) Wright and Donna Kraynak; great-grandchildren, Kaydin Gagnon, Isabelle Wright and Amelia Wright; and sister, Barbara Powell. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, and other friends and relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband, John; sister, Patricia Petersen and two brothers who died in infancy.

Funeral services for Jean will be tentatively held at Bethania Lutheran Church, 4120 Wright Ave., on Thursday morning, July 8, 2010, at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be held at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family on Wednesday evening, July 7, at the funeral home from 6  - 8 p.m. and Thursday morning, at the church from 9:30-10:30 a.m.

Memorials in honor of Jean may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association.
