Mary R. (Minneti) Ernst

Mary R. Ernst, age 93, passed away Thursday, July 29, 2010, at Horizon Hospice at Columbia- St. Mary’s, Ozaukee, WI. Mary was born in Racine, October 11, 1916, the oldest of twelve children, daughter of the late Natale and Anna Marie Minetti.

Mary attended St. John Nepomuk Grade School and graduated from St. Catherine’s High School “Class of 1934.” On November 9, 1940, she was united in marriage to Reinhold Roy Ernst who preceded her in death, November 2, 1996. After her children were grown she was employed by High Ridge Hospital as a nurse’s aide for many years. She was a longtime member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and most recently a member of St. Richard Catholic Church. Mary was a very caring and loving person and had a kindness for everyone she met. She will be deeply missed by her family.

Survivors include her children, Marsha (Richard) Krueger of Mequon, WI, Ronald (Jeanne) Ernst of Racine, Debra Dunn of Las Vegas, NV, Maryann Ernst of Racine; her two grandchildren, Kristen (Douglas) Kuch of Ann Arbor, MI, Regina Ernst of San Francisco, CA; her great-grandson, Elijah Kuch; sisters, Josephine Yunk, Carmella Brunnelson, Anna Lawler, Frances (Edward) Aiello; brothers, Nicholas Minneti, Paul Minneti, Anthony Minneti, and Dominic (Gail) Minneti; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her brother, Jacob (Rosemary) Minneti; and sisters, Micheline Olson and Lucy Junk.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, August 3, 2010, at 11 a.m. at St. Richard Catholic Church, 1503 Grove Ave., with Rev. Ronald J. Gramza officiating. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Garden Mausoleum, Hwy 32. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Tuesday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass at 11 a.m. Memorials to St. Richard Catholic Church or to St. Catherine’s High School have been suggested.

Mary’s family wishes to extend a special thank you to nurse Bill, and aides, Ramona, Debbie, Pat, Amanda and Kristine for their loving and compassionate care, along with the wonderful staff and friends Mary made at Lake Oaks.
