Jean M. (Raymond) Krejcha

Jean M. Krejcha, age 87, passed away Wednesday, July 28, 2010, at Ridgewood Care Center. She was born in Racine June 28, 1923, daughter of the late Edwin and Christine (Nee: Wirry) Raymond. She attended St. John Nepomuk School and graduated from St. Catherine’s High School “Class of 1941.”

On August 22, 1942, at St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church, she was united in marriage to Carl M. Krejcha who preceded her in death January 28, 2002. She was an active member of St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church where she had served as Home and School President, taught CCD for 10 years, served as a regent and officer for the Daughters of Isabella, chaired the Archbishop's Fund Drive, was a Girl Scout leader and started Troop 120, was a Cub Scout Den Mother, was a breakfast cook for the Holy Name Society, and helped on the church cleaning crew.

She also was a member of St. Mary’s Medical Center Auxiliary, Siena Center Auxiliary, and the Catholic Women’s Club. Jean was an avid card player and an accomplished bridge player and her numerous card clubs brought her great pleasure. She was known and loved by all for her kindness. Above all she was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be dearly missed.

Survivors include her sons, Carl (Marilynn) Krejcha Jr., Mark (Hilary) Krejcha, all of Racine; daughters, Mariann Muzzi, Julie Louther of Madison, WI; grandchildren, Lisa (Greg) Thiele of Atlanta, GA, Lori (Mike) Peterson of Racine, Lynn Kolashinski of Delafield, WI, Eric (Cindy) Krejcha of Charlotte, NC, Carl (Beth) Krejcha III of Sun Prairie, WI, Catherine (Timothy) Ulrich of Racine, Gustav (Julie) Krejcha of Milwaukee, Max (Jeanie) Krejcha of Racine, Akira Madden, of Madison; great-grandchildren, Megan and Jeremy Thiele, Joseph Peterson, Jerome H. Jr. and Colin Kolashinski, Abigail and Tyler Krejcha, Emilie and Jack Ulrich, Xavier and Kyle Madden, Xavier and Nadia Krejcha, Melissa Boyes, Tara Herrman, Nicole Vinji;  sisters-in-law, Patricia Raymond, Mary Louise Schenkenberg, both of Racine, Peggy Krejcha of Appleton, Gerrie Krejcha of Green Bay; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parents and her husband, Jean was also preceded in death by her daughter, Christine Agnes Krejcha in 1977; her brother, Edwin E. Raymond Jr.; and her sister, Marie Schenkenberg.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church, 1903 Green Street, Friday, July 30, 2010, at 6 p.m. Private entombment will be held at Calvary Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church on Friday from 4 p.m. until time of Mass. Memorials to one’s favorite charity have been suggested by the family.
