Lorraine M. (Bukacek) Rickard

Lorraine M. Rickard, age 82, passed away Monday, July 12, 2010, at the Hospice House, Pleasant Prairie, WI. She was born in Racine, May 20, 1927, daughter of the late Frank and Collette (Nee: Tomacheck) Bukacek.

In May of 1946 in Medford, WI, Lorraine was united in marriage to John P. Rickard who preceded her in death, February 27, 1991. Throughout her working career Lorraine was employed at Zahn’s, Goldblatt’s, A& P, and retired from Sears. Lorraine was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, Red Hat Ladies Society, and Sears Retiree Club. She enjoyed playing cards, dartball, camping, but most of all she cherished time spent with her family. She will be deeply missed.

Survivors include her two sons, John (Lynn) Rickard, Mark Rickard, all of Union Grove; her grandchildren, Amy (Scott) Rickard-Tresder, John M. Rickard, Laura Koehn; her great-grandchildren, Julia, Jamie, Jessica, Sophia, Sheldon and Shelby; sister-in-law, June Baysinger; other relatives and many dear friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, July 15, 2010, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 6400 Spring St., with Rev. William J. Dietzler officiating. Interment will follow at the Yorkville Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Wednesday at the funeral home from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. and Thursday at the church from 10 a.m. until time of Mass at 10:30 a.m. Memorials to Hospice Alliance have been suggested.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Mary Johnson, “Lorraine’s living Guardian Angel,” for her lifelong friendship and care given to Lorraine throughout the years.
