Doris I. (Noyes) Duncan

Doris I. Duncan, age 86, passed away on Thursday, November 27, 2014, at Wheaton Franciscan – All Saints Medical Center. Doris was born in Racine on December 4, 1927, daughter of the late Ira and Evelyn (Nee:  Jensen) Noyes.

Doris was employed for many years at the House of Lem, Labor Center, Meadowbrook Country Club, and retired from Wisconsin Natural Gas in 1986 after twenty-two years of employment.

Her pastimes included knitting, crocheting, crafts, puzzles and volunteering with Toys for Tots. Doris held numerous offices in VFW Post 1391 Ladies Auxiliary and was a lifelong member. She also loved traveling, especially on cruises, and trips to Puerto Rico and Door County.  Most of all, she cherished time spent with her family and will be dearly missed.

Survivors include her children, Judith (Dennis) Siddell of Milwaukee, Crystal Orttel of Racine, Penny Duncan of Kenosha, Kenneth Duncan of Racine; 14 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sons, Todd and Richard; grandson, Dusty; and sister, Shirley (Otto) Tessmann.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 2, 2014, at 6 p.m. at the funeral home.  Relatives and friends may meet with the family Tuesday at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until time of service at 6 p.m. All are welcome to meet Wednesday at the funeral home at 1:30 p.m. for procession to West Lawn Memorial Park. Memorials to one’s favorite veterans’ organization have been suggested.
