Rose M. (Graceffa) Dacquisto

Surrounded by her loving family, Rose M. Dacquisto, age 97, passed away on Saturday, November 29, 2014, at her home. Rose was born in Oglesby, IL, on April 6, 1917, daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (Nee: Gaziano) and moved to Racine in 1933.

On September 21, 1940, at St. Joseph Catholic Church she was united in marriage to Fred Dacquisto, who preceded her in death on May 18, 1996. Rose worked for several years at Hamilton Beach and Rainfair Inc. She was a longtime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Rose loved to crochet, write poetry, read, solve crossword puzzles and play bingo. Above all, she cherished her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be dearly missed.

Survivors include her children, John (Judey) Dacquisto of Spokane, WA, Joseph Dacquisto, Fred (Terri) Dacquisto, all of Racine, Mary (Joseph) Woitach of Racine, Anne (Mike) Gillespie of Murphy, NC; daughter-in-law, Ellen Dacquisto; her grandchildren, Joseph (Amy) Woitach, Jane (Kurt) Wentorf, John (Amy) Woitach, Jim Woitach, Sue Woitach, Tony (Dione) Woitach, Marie Woitach, Kelli (Chris) Cox, Nicole (Tim) Rothrock, John (Jennifer) Dacquisto, Michael (Kara) Dacquisto, Katey Dacquisto, Neal Gillespie, Alex Gillespie, Daniel Dacquisto, Ryan Dacquisto, Emily Dacquisto, Tia Dacquisto; 19 great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; one step-great-great-grandchild; brothers and sisters, Sam (Yolanda) Graceffa, Joseph (Dorothy) Graceffa, Grace Liefbroer of Racine, Angie Banks of FL; sister-in-law, Grace Graceffa of Park Falls; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Carlo (Grace) Graceffa, Russ Graceffa, Josephine (Henry) Pflieger, Sarah (Ezio) Tempesta; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Don Liefbroer, Ralph Banks and Irene Graceffa.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, December 5, 2014, at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1533 Erie St., with Rev. Steve Varghese officiating. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Garden Mausoleum, Hwy 32. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Friday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Joseph Catholic Church or to St. Catherine’s High School have been suggested.
