Barbara Mary (nee: Kexel) Kent, 73, passed away on Wednesday, March 10, 2010, at Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare - All Saints. She was born in Appleton, Wisconsin, on June 27, 1936, the daughter of Ferninand and Dorothy (nee: Marcks) Kexel.
On January 27, 1995, Barbara was united in marriage to Raymond Kent. She graduated from Appleton West High School and later attended Lawrence University. Barbara was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Parish. During her working career she had been employed with Western Publishing, Racine Unified School District and Walley Stewart Landscaping. Barbara enjoyed knitting, crocheting and quilt-making and was an avid Packer fan. When she was younger she enjoyed bowling and golfing.
Surviving is her husband, Raymond; children, Elizabeth Beckett, Brian W. Stewart and David J. Stewart; grandson, Brandon Stewart; and a brother, Richard Kexel. She is further survived by other relatives and friends.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held at Sturino Funeral Home on Monday, March 15, 2010, at 10 a.m. with Rev. Bill Dietzler officiating. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. There will be a visitation at the funeral home on Monday before services from 9 a.m. until service time.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to American Cancer Society or American Diabetes Assoc. has been suggested.
