Leona M. (Dacquisto) LaFave

Leona M. LaFave, age 88. passed away Sunday, March 28, 2010, at the Kenosha United Hospital. Leona was born in Racine, May 28, 1921, daughter of the late John and Stella (Nee: Jack) Dacquisto.

On April 29, 1947, Leona was united in marriage to Robert F. LaFave who preceded her in death, November 27, 1992. Leona was employed by Eagle Luggage for twenty-five years, retiring in 1981. She was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church and Lincoln Village Auxiliary. Leona enjoyed crafts, a challenging game of cards, and traveling with her family, especially her family retreats to Shawano. She will be dearly missed.

Survivors include her daughter, Lonnie (Nickolas) Echeverria of Racine; her four sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas LaFave of Kenosha, WI, Lawrence LaFave of Kenosha, WI, Robert (Janice) LaFave of Fountain Hills, AZ, Timothy (Kathy) LaFave of Muskego, WI; 9 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Tillie Goins of Racine; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Ann; brothers, Tony and Nick Dacquisto; and sister, Frances Eschmann.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, April 5, 2010, at 10 a.m. at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 6400 Spring St., with Rev. William J. Dietzler officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Monday at the church from 9 a.m. until time of Mass. Memorials to the American Heart Association have been suggested.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the entire staff at St. Joseph Home for the Aged in Kenosha for all of their loving and compassionate care.
