Kenneth G. Anclam, age 88, passed away March 24, 2010, at Ridgewood Care Center. Kenneth was born in Racine, February 10, 1922, son of Otto and Eva (Nee: Pfleger) Anclam.
During World War II, Kenneth proudly served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Summit while stationed in the Pacific Theater. On September 17, 1949, in Racine, he was united in marriage to Josephine Stretti. Kenneth was employed by Young Radiator for fifteen years and then by Modine Manufacturing for over twenty-five years, retiring in 1986. Kenneth volunteered for many years with Special Olympics. He treasured time spent with his family camping and traveling. He will be deeply missed.
Survivors include his wife of over 60 years, Josephine of Racine; his children, Jeffery (Patricia) Anclam of Cambridge, MN, Keith (Mary) Anclam, of Racine; his three grandchildren, Justin (Cassandra) Anclam, Jacqueline Anclam, Thomas Anclam; sister, Harriet (Raymond) Carlson of Lancaster, PA; lifelong friend, Robert Repa; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home Sunday March 28, 2010, at 4 p.m., with Rev. John Fleming officiating. Interment with Full Military Honors will be held at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home Sunday from 2 p.m. until time of service at 4 p.m. Memorials to the Special Olympics have been suggested.
The family extends a special thank you to nurses Linda and Darlene and the entire staff at Ridgewood Care Center for all of their loving and compassionate care.
