Raymond C. Zukowski

Raymond C. Zukowski, age 80, passed away Wednesday, February 17, 2010, at Wheaton Franciscan All Saints. He was born in Racine on May 18, 1929, son of the late Casimir and Natalie Zukowski.

Raymond served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. On August 22, 1959, he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Jacobsen, who preceded him in death on August 25, 1995. He was employed as Vice President of sales for Racine Railroad Products. He was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church and Meadowbrook Country Club. He enjoyed golfing, bowling and playing cribbage.

Surviving are his daughters, Christine Zukowski, Sarah (John) Grycowski, two grandchildren, Alex and Amy, all of Racine; sister, Helen Kalscheuer of Madison; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Nancy Schmieden of Elkhorn, Donald Jacobsen of Elkhorn, Jeanette (Harold) Johnson of Woodstock, IL; nieces, nephews other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to his parents and wife, he also was preceded in death by his sister, Josephine Hughes.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 20, 2010, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 6400 Spring St., with Rev. William J. Dietzler officiating. Entombment with full military honors will follow at Holy Cross Garden Mausoleum, Hwy 32. Relatives and friends are welcome to meet with the family at 9:30 until time of Mass at the church. Memorials to St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church or to St. Catherine’s High School have been suggested by the family.
