Rachel Lee 'Big Rach' Tussler

Surrounded by the love of her family and friends, Rachel Lee Tussler, "Big Rach," age 47, passed away peacefully Wednesday, June 15, 2011, at Ridgewood Care Center. Rachel was born in Racine on December 12, 1963, daughter of the late Charles H. and Stella A. (Nee: Sweeti) Tussler.

Rachel grew up in Sturtevant where she was outgoing and befriended all those who met her. She was a member of St. Sebastian’s Catholic Church. She attended St. Rose and Olympia Brown Grade Schools. Rachel enjoyed dancing, playing ball, cards, cheering on the Cubs and Packers, going with her sister Renee to shoot pool and bowl and babysitting for her nieces and nephews. She will be remembered for her good natured spirit and her infectious smile. She will be dearly missed.

Survivors include her brothers and sisters, Randy J. Tussler of Racine, Lance “Budda” (Margaret) Tussler of Kenosha, (her best friend) Renee Thompson of Sturtevant, Sara Tussler both of Sturtevant; sister-in-law, Patti Tussler of Fort Atkinson, IA; brother-in-law, Steve Jander of Racine; nieces and nephews, Danielle and Erin Tussler, Clint Downie, Trisha, Melissa, and Norma Jean Tussler, Lynee (Nathan) Thompkins, Rachel Rose Thompson, Katrina, Kyle, and Jason Jander, Anna, Samantha and Maxwell Tussler; her godson, Kody Torres; great nieces and nephews; aunts, uncles, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Brian “Worm” Tussler and Todd Tussler; and brother-in-law, Peter Thompson.

Funeral services will be held Monday, June 20, 2011, at noon at the funeral home. Relatives and friends may meet Monday from 10 a.m. until time of service. Private interment will be held at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Martha, Sheri P., Sherrie and the entire Ridgewood Staff, Angie from Hospice Alliance, Dr. Mark DeCheck, and Dr. Rajeev Nayar for their loving and compassionate care. Also special thanks to Nana for being a good roommate and the Chapin and Torres Families for their love and support.
