Virginia Gertrude (Lusche) Lesko

Virginia Gertrude Lesko (Nee: Lusche), born October 8, 1915, to Luise Hutt Lusche and Herman Lusche in Evanston, IL, passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2011, at her residence. The cause of death was heart failure. She was 95.

She married John S. Lesko on April 29, 1939. He died in 1992. She worked as a dental assistant and later in the registration office at Gateway Technical Institute. Virginia enjoyed traveling, good food, talking with friends and family, Broadway musicals and reading. Since 2005 she lived at The Atrium/Bay Pointe, where she had many friends. She will be missed for her sense of humor and her interesting conversation.

She is survived by a son, John S. Lesko, of Blufton, SC; a daughter, Nancy Lesko, of New York City; two granddaughters, Elizabeth Fadley, of Columbus, OH, and Michelle Fick, of Minneapolis, MN; and two great-grandchildren, Lauren and Kolten.

Funeral services will be held at the funeral home Monday, June 13, 2011, at 11 a.m. with Chaplain Terry Peterson officiating. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Monday at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Hospice Alliance Inc., 10220 Prairie Ridge Boulevard, Pleasant Prairie, WI 53158 have been suggested.

Deepest thanks go to Erma, Courtney, Mary, Shannon, Jackie, Marilyn, and Barb. Finally, we are grateful to Marie Krescanko, who was Virginia's best friend and traveling companion for many years and kept all the pieces together.
