Charles T. Scholzen

Mt. Pleasant -- Charles T. Scholzen, 85, passed away on November 18, 2011, at Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare- All Saints.

Charles was born in Racine on February 26, 1926, to the late Nicholas and Elizabeth (nee: Holler) Scholzen. On May 8, 1948, he was united in marriage to Beverly Jean Lequia at St. Patrick's Catholic Church.

Charles had been employed as a machinist at Twin Disc for 47 years and was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church. He was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed NASCAR, golf, and bowling. In his earlier years he also liked to hunt and fish.

He will be dearly missed by his wife, Beverly; children, Mark (Lisa) Scholzen, Jodi (Steve) Lindsey, Lynn (John) Ravelli; grandchildren, Kristen, Lauren, Carson, Nick and Dave; sisters, Marie (Charles) Poehlmann, Joan Potenziani, Rita Jaskulske, Donna (Wayne) Ferguson; brother, Lawrence Scholzen; brothers-in-law, Richard (Mary Jane) Lequia; Fred (Mary) Lequia; godchild, Ellie Lantz; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his brothers, George, Robert and John Scholzen; and sisters, Margaret Thomas, and Dorothy Shockley.

A mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Paul the Apostle Church on Wednesday, November 23, 2011, at 11 a.m. with Fr. William Dietzler officiating. Entombment will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. Relatives and friends may meet the family at the church on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the time of mass. Memorials in honor of Charles may be directed to the American Heart Association.

The family would like to thank Dr. Short, Dr. Durbin and physical therapist Keith Hatch for their kind and compassionate care of Charles.
