Brenda Joyce Barker

Brenda Joyce Barker, 57, passed away Monday, December 7, 2011, at her residence. Brenda was born in Racine WI, on May 17, 1954, to Hubert Sonny Barker and Magnolia Maggie (nee: Morris) Barker.

Brenda was employed by General Converter Assembly for ten years and by Old Country Buffet Restaurant for three years. Brenda was preceded in death by her father, Hubert “Sonny” Barker; her mother, Magnolia “Maggie” (nee: Morris) Barker; her grandparents; her grandson, Melvin T. Bumpus III; aunts and uncles, Charlie Morris Jr., Joe and Edna Morris, Margerie Morris, Catharine and Leo Richards; and cousin, Shirley Robinson.

Brenda leaves to cherish her memories her one surviving child, Rochelle Nicole “Nikki” Barker of Minneapolis, MN; grandchildren, Darnesha Collier, Nostalgia Barker, Dedra Rollins, Tatyana Vaughn, Darryl Rollins and Da'Naja Jones; nine surviving siblings, Hubert “Tootie” (Linda) Barker Jr., of New Albany, MS, Diane Barker of Myrtle, MS, Nathan Barker of Denver, CO, Terry (Diane) Barker of Minneapolis, MN., Roger Barker of Minneapolis, MN, Gwen (Tony) Pattillo of Dale City, VA., Vernon 'Bud' (Shawn) Barker of Racine, WI., Patricia Barker of Manassas, VA., Jerry Barker of Portland OR; aunts, Winnie Morris, Jewelyn Morris, Doris Morris, all of Racine; uncle, Roland Morris of Racine; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Monday, December 19, 2011, at 10 a.m. with Pastor  Keith T. Evans officiating. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Monday at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until time of service at 10 a.m.

The Barker family would like to thank everyone for their cares, prayers, and concerns.
