James W. Andresen, age 79, passed away Monday, December 26, 2011, at Wheaton Franciscan – All Saints Medical Center. James was born in Racine, July 4, 1932, son of the late Christian and Ruth H. (Nee: Day) Andresen.
On August 12, 1956, he was united in marriage to Rose Ann M. Loftus. Jim was a graduate of Washington Park High School “Class of 1950.” Furthering his education, he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in 1957 from UW–Madison. He co-owned and operated Northside Pharmacy for many years with Fred Knobel. Jim was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church and an avid golfer. Above all, he was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather who cherished time spent with his family. He will be deeply missed.
Survivors include his loving wife of fifty-five years, Rose Ann; his children, Gwen Andresen of Racine, Alane (Chris) Pignotti of Phoenix, AZ, James (Bonnie) Andresen of Racine, RoseMarie (Ross) Ehrick of Phoenix, AZ; his grandchildren, Arthur (Juliana) Pignotti, Alex (Giselle) Pignotti, Christopher Pignotti, all of Phoenix, AZ, James J. (Katy) Andresen of Hawaii, Wade Andresen of Oak Creek, Stephanie Andresen of Racine, Tyler (Stephanie) Ehrick, Taylor (Brittany) Ehrick, Logan Ehrick and fiancée, Katy Murphy, all of Phoenix, AZ; brother, Wayne (Anh) Andresen of San Antonio, TX; sister, Elaine (John) Urhausen of Elkhorn, WI; sister-in-law and brothers-in-law, Kathleen (Charles) Groat of Appleton, Keith Loftus of Lebanon, MO; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, John (Betty) Andresen.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 31, 2011, at 9 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Susan Smith officiating. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Friday at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. Memorials to Emmanuel Lutheran Church or to Careers Industries have been suggested.
Jim’s family extends their sincere gratitude to Dr David Zablotney, Dr. Michael Mullane, and their staffs, and to the caregivers at Wheaton Franciscan for their loving and compassionate care.
