On Friday, December 23, 2011, Shirley M. Rasmussen, surrounded by her loving family, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ whom she so faithfully served for 83 years. A lover of cooking and food, Shirley and James owned and operated the Driftwood Restaurant; she later was employed with the Spinning Wheel and Famous Recipe Chicken. She was also employed with Zahn’s Department Store and Brill’s Men Clothing Store.
The ultimate host, Shirley enjoyed all things related to the home including cooking, baking and gardening. She was an avid reader and loved crafts including ceramics, painting, knitting and sewing. In retirement she volunteered with Habit for Humanity, joined Jazzercise, and worked part time at Klema Feeds.
