Geraldine 'Gerry' M. (Korzinek) Botting

Geraldine “Gerry” M. Botting, age 90, passed away on Wednesday, October 9, 2013, at Wheaton Franciscan – All Saints Medical Center.  Gerry was born in Racine on May 26, 1923, daughter of the late Frank and Dora (Nee:  Kroes) Korzinek.  She was a polio survivor who went on to live a full life.

On June 7, 1947, she was united in marriage to Robert J. Botting, who preceded her in death on January 5, 2002.  Gerry was employed by Kelly Services for twenty years.  She was a longtime and faithful member of St. Rita Catholic Church.  She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, foster mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be dearly missed.

Survivors include her children, Jeannine (Richard) Krajnak, Gregory Botting, all of Racine, Barbara (Paul) Ruesch of Milladore, WI, Jane (Roger) Strom of Los Altos, CA,  Jon (Mary Beth) Botting of Racine, James Botting (Pat Olsen) of West Bend; fifteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; also survived by her second family of quilters and many dear friends.  In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Rev. Richard Korzinek, Rev. Wilbur Francis Korzinek, Eugene Korzinek; her sister, Mary (James) Donahue; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Mildred (James) Kiernan, Mary Botting, Edward Botting, Richard (Ruth) Botting.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 12, 2013, at noon at St. Rita Catholic Church, 4339 Douglas Ave., with Rev. Jack Flynn O.S.A. officiating. Private interment will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32.   Relatives and friends may meet with the family Saturday at the church from 10:30 a.m. until time of Mass at  noon.  Memorials to St. Rita Catholic Church or to the Alzheimer’s Association have been suggested.
