Cecelia (Christman) Keen

Cecelia Keen, age 99, passed away on Monday, April 28, 2014, at Lincoln Village Convalescent Center. Cecelia was born in Kenosha on September 12, 1914, daughter of the late Nicholas and Caroline (Nee: Eich) Christman.

In June of 1939 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church she was united in marriage to Matthew H. Keen, who preceded her in death on July 14, 1972.  Cecelia was a member of St. Sebastian Catholic Church. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking and in her words “did everything the old fashioned way.” She will be deeply missed.

Survivors include her children, John (Joyce) Keen of Brighton, Peter (Sara) Keen of Racine; ten loving grandchildren, Melinda (Stan) Zortman, Ann (William) Bruno, Maggie (Byron) Franklin, Katie Keen, Heidi Keen, Sadie (Trik) Marker, Mollie Keen, Matthew Keen, Nick (Courtney) Keen, Jake Keen; ten great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Jack Benjamin of KS; dear niece, Helen Bodvin; other nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Mary; daughter, Agnes Benjamin; five brothers and three sisters.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 2, 2014, at 5 p.m. at St. Sebastian Catholic Church, 3100 95th St., with Rev. Mark R. Jones officiating.  Relatives and friends may meet with the family Friday at the church from 3 p.m. until time of Mass at 5 p.m.  Private interment will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32.  Memorials to St. Sebastian Catholic Church have been suggested.
