Surrounded by family, Isaac Johnson Jr., age 69, passed away peacefully on Friday April 11, 2014, after a long courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Isaac was born in Deason, MS, on December 20, 1944, son of the late Isaac and Cora (nee: Berry) Johnson Sr.
Isaac received his formal education in Clarksdale, MS. He was baptized at the age of 12 and moved to Chicago, IL, in 1964 where he was employed as a cook. He later moved to Racine, WI, where he was employed with J.I. Case for over thirty years, before retiring in 1994. He was an active member of A and D Ministries, and a member of the JI Case Twenty-Year Club.
Isaac was united in marriage to Jean Dealveux and to this union two children were born.
Isaac enjoyed life to the fullest. He was known as “Ike” and Goldie” with his fancy clothes, jewelry, Cadillacs and other cars. He loved his family, especially his sister, Eliza. The bond between him and his children was remarkable, but becoming a grandfather was the proudest time of his life. His pastimes included going for walks at the mall, thrift stores or just a simple car ride.
Isaac leaves to cherish his memories, his children, Jessica Ott, Tyrone Johnson Sr., Vanessa Johnson, all of Racine, Gabrielle Johnson of Milwaukee; grandchildren, Malcolm Lofton, Tyrone Johnson Jr., and Dairyon Johnson, Victoria Judon, all of Racine, Shavonna Scott of Norfolk, VA; sisters, Eliza Ward, Beatrice (Lewis) Givens and Parmelia Stevenson; brother, Oscar (Linda) Henderson, all of Racine; sister-in-law, Juanita Johnson of Clarksdale, MS; special friends, Hattie Darby, Geraldine Luckett, Berlin Fundergerg and Thomas Murray; many other relatives and friends.
