Ethel E. (Kopecki) Radewan

Ethel Radewan, age 93, passed away on Thursday, April 3, 2014, at All Saints Medical Center. She was born in Kenosha on January 5, 1921, daughter of Charles and Katherine Kopecki.

Ethel graduated from Bradford High School in Kenosha. On September 7, 1941, she was united in marriage to Elmer Radewan, who preceded her in death on June 3, 1980.

Ethel had worked as a secretary at McKinley and Roosevelt Schools. She volunteered for many years at St. Mary’s Hospital Gift Shop. Ethel was a longtime member of St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church. She enjoyed playing cards, watching the Packers, spending winters in Arizona, dancing at her grandchildren’s weddings and beating them at sheepshead. Above all, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be dearly missed.

She is survived by a daughter, Kathleen M. (Lawrence) Benjamin; a son, Richard E. (Mary) Radewan; grandchildren, Jeff (Heather) Benjamin of Milwaukee, Tim (Anna) Benjamin of Milwaukee, Jill (Andrew) Cusack of Huntsville, AL, Karen (Mark) Hellendrung of New Brighton, MN, Kevin (Rachel) Radewan, and James Radewan; six great grandchildren, Hunter, Logan, Isaac, Noah, Alexis and Max; brother-in-law, Richard Kopro; many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and neighbors.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Lawrence Benjamin; great-granddaughter, Gracie Cusack; her sister, Mildred Kopro; and brother, Ernest (Jean) Kopecki.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, April 10, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. at St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church, 1903 Green St. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet Wednesday, April 9, at the funeral home from 5-7 p.m. and on Thursday at the church from 10 a.m. until time of Mass.
