Rose DeRose) Biro

Rose Biro, age 93, passed away Saturday, September 11, 2010, at Ridgewood Care Center. She was born in Racine, February 28, 1917, daughter of the late Fortunato and Maria DeRose and had been a lifelong resident.

Rose had been employed by Rainfair Inc for over 30 years retiring in 1980. She was a longtime member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and currently a member of St. Edward’s Catholic Church. She had been a member of St. Mary’s Auxiliary and the Sweet Adelines. She was very active in the Democratic Party and was a longtime poll worker. Rose enjoyed crafts, bingo, dancing and trips to Vegas. More than anything, it was her family that was most important and she instilled that in her children and grandchildren by leading by example. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother and will be dearly missed.

Surviving are her son, Robert Biro of Kenosha; daughter, Diane (Donald) Williams of Eloy, AZ; daughter-in-law, Trudy Biro of Racine; four grandchildren, Deneen (Curt) Czosnek of Racine; Gina (Mark) Godlewski of Racine, Jeffrey (Brenda) Williams of Spring Grove, IL; Brian (Lisa) Williams of Terre Haute, IN; great-grandchildren, Cayla, Candace, Cameron and Stan Czosnek, Samantha Godlewski, Emma and Hazel Williams, Hunter Williams; sisters, Margaret Aiello and Emma (Richard) Braun of Racine; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Anthony DeRose; and four sisters, Amelia Gallo, Lena Carravetta, Charlotte Fojtik and Julia Richter.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, September 18, 2010, at 11 a.m. at St. Edward’s Catholic Church, 1401 Grove Ave., with Reverend Richard Molter officiating. Private entombment will be held at Calvary Garden Crypts. Relatives and friends may meet at the church Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass. In lieu of flowers memorials to St. Joseph’s or St. Edward’s Catholic Churches have been suggested.

The family wishes to give a special thank you to the entire staff at Ridgewood Care Center and her case worker Hugh Griffith for their loving and compassionate care.
