Mrs. Carol J. (nee: Fish) Ruud, 94, passed away at Wheaton Franciscan/All Saints on Tuesday, January 18, 2011. She was born in Sparta, WI, on January 2, 1917, to the late Orin and Nora (nee: Brown) Fish. She has lived in Racine since the late 1930s. She was united in marriage to Kenneth Ruud on March 29, 1941, and he preceded her in death in 1984. She was employed at St. Mary’s Medical Center.
Mrs. Ruud enjoyed camping, the outdoors and playing cards. She loved all animals, especially dogs and birds.
She is survived by two children, Daniel Ruud of Altadena, CA, Christine Ruud of Racine; daughter-in-law, Anne Ryan-Ruud of Cambridge, Massachusetts; grandchildren, Brian (Christine) Johnson, Jason (Margie) Johnson, Josh (Colleen) Ruud, Christa (Robert) Buyea, Colin Ruud, Karl (Stephanie) Ruud, Kenneth Ruud, Rebecca Ruud; nine great-grandchildren, Nicole and Jacob Johnson, Kimberly, Kenneth, Bryce and Noah Johnson, Cooper Ruud, Calvin Ruud and Camden Ruud. She was preceded in death by a son, Donald Ruud; infant daughter, Carol; brothers, Rodger and Keith Fish; and a sister, Shirley Osweiler.
Funeral services will be held at Christ Church United Methodist, 5109 Washington Ave., on Thursday, January 27, 2011, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Mark Swanson officiating. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Friends may meet with the family at the church on Thursday from 9 a.m. until the time of service.
