Michael Benjamin Semler

Kansasville -- Michael B. Semler, “Ben,” age 83, passed away Friday, January 28, 2011, at Wheaton Franciscan All Saints Medical Center. He was born in Burlington , WI, on November 27, 1927, son of the late Mike and Emma (Nee: Madden) Semler.

Ben graduated from Burlington High School. On July 4, 1960, he was united in marriage to Mildred (Horvorka) Duchan, who preceded him in death November 30, 2007. Ben farmed for about 20 years and then drove truck for Quality Carriers and retired from J.W. Peters in 1990.

Ben was a member of the Audubon Society. He enjoyed caring for people and was a caregiver these past ten years. Ben will be remembered as a hardworking, good and honest man. He will be dearly missed.

Surviving are his son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Lyn Semler of Silver Lake; three grandsons and one granddaughter; a sister, Barbara Young of Salem, WI; three nephews; a niece, and many dear friends.

Private services were held with interment at Woodlawn Cemetery, Forest Park, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Audubon Society or Wheaton Franciscan Hospice have been suggested.
