Richard E. Beres

Richard E. “Dickie” Beres, age 67, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, January 26, 2011, at Wheaton Franciscan-All Saints Medical Center. Richard was born in Racine, April 12, 1943, son of the late Joseph H. and Marie R. (Nee: Kettinger) Beres.

Dick graduated from St. Catherine’s High School “Class of 1961.” On April 29, 1976, in Racine he was united in marriage to Jean Gerber Holmes. He owned and operated Beres Towing and Repairs for forty-two years. Dick was a member and board member of Wisconsin Towing Association. He had a passion for cars and enjoyed driving in the 4th of July parade. Most of all, he truly enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be deeply missed.

Survivors include his wife, Jean; his children, James (Holly) Holmes, Cheryl Valente (Keven Winters), Daniel Holmes, Lynn M. (David) Beres Morris; his grandchildren, Julie Valente (Mario Anchondo), Stephanie (Nick) Sexauer, Danielle, Gabrielle, Emily, David Jr. and Jeanette Morris; his great-grandchildren, Ramiro and Hailey Rose; brothers and sister, Thomas J. (Jean) Beres, Donald L. (Karen) Beres, Roseann M. (Jack) Nelson; brothers-in-law, Wayne (Maureen) Gerber, Gregg (Susan) Nees; uncle and aunts, Earl (Mavis) Kettinger, Marian Beres; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many dear friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, February 2, 2011, at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2201 Northwestern Ave., followed by interment at Graceland Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Tuesday at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. and Wednesday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until 10:15 a.m.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Wheaton Franciscan –ER staff and Erickson Ambulance for their services throughout the years.
