Robert 'Bob' Walter Steidl


Robert “Bob” Walter Steidl passed away at the young age of 51 at his residence in Florida on June 4, 2012.  Bob was born on August 14, 1960, in Racine, WI.  He is a graduate of St. Catherine’s High School and joined the U.S. Army shortly thereafter where he proudly served his country.  After returning from his military service, Bob operated his own business for many years where he specialized in roofing and carpentry.  He also extensively renovated two homes for his family.

Bob was a proud father and took great pride in his children’s accomplishments.  Bob was outgoing and well versed in many topics and loved to engage family and friends in conversation.

Robert is survived by Monika Steidl and their two loving children, Kevin and Andrea Steidl; his father, Jerome (Billie) Steidl; sisters, Patricia (LaMonte) Bohman, and Nancy (Rick) Fink; his brother, Donald Steidl; two step-sisters, Jane (George) Weyenberg, and Jody (Neal) Persky; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and other relatives.  Bob was preceded in death by his loving mother, Phyllis Steidl (Nee: Guenther); and his grandparents, Florence and Walter Guenther and Jacob and Anna Steidl.

Family and friends may meet with the family on Monday, June 18, 2012,  at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m.  Private interment will be held with full military honors at the National Veterans Cemetery in Sarasota Florida on June 15, 2012. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Wounded Warriors have been suggested.
