Theodore Edward 'Tedd' or 'Teddy' Nicikowski

Theodore E. Nicikowski, 76, passed away on Saturday, June 30, 2012, at Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare – All Saints.

Theodore was born in Racine to Stanley Sr. and Nellie (nee: Klus) Nicikowski on July 22, 1935. He lived in Racine all his life. He graduated from St. Catherine High School and was proud to join the United States Air Force. Tedd served as a pilot in the Air Force from 1954 until 1958 at the rank of 2nd Lieutenant. A year later, on September 5, 1959, Tedd was united in marriage to Sharon L. Christensen.

Tedd was very devoted in the Catholic faith. He was a former member of St John Nepomuk Catholic Church and currently a member of St. Lucy’s Catholic Church. Tedd was a very hard worker. He was employed by Renault, American Motors Corp. and Chrysler Corp. On May 30 2004, he retired after 46 years due to health issues. Tedd was a member of the Union Time Study for 20 years. He enjoyed his birdies and his dog, Ribbons. Most importantly, he devoted his life to his family and was a very good provider to everyone he knew.

Teddy is survived by his wife of 52 years, Sharon; daughter, Sheri; son, Teron; two brothers, Stanley Jr. and Bernard (Mary); sister, Regina (Alex) Alexander; sister-in-laws, Joni (Walter) Meehan; nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and friends. He was preceded in death an infant daughter, Jana Mary, on August 13, 1960; his parents, Stanley Sr. and Nellie Nicikowski; in-laws, Alvin J. Christensen and Marge (Gordon) Krueger; and sister-in-law, Millie Nicikowski.

A funeral Mass will be held at St Lucy’s Catholic Church, 3035 Drexel Ave., on Friday, July 6, 2012, at 10 a.m. with Fr. Mark Jones celebrating. Interment will follow with full military honors at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the Wilson Funeral Home on Thursday evening, July 5, 2012, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. A vigil service will follow at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church the next morning from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. Mass. Memorials may be directed to the family.
