Gary 'Bert' D. Barth

Gary “Bert” D. Barth, age 55, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 28, 2013, at his residence.  Gary was born in Racine, October 16, 1957, son of Lawrence J. and Shirley J. (Nee: Bredow) Barth.

Gary graduated from William Horlick High School “Class of 1975.” On September 6, 2008, he was united in marriage to Lorraine J. Miller.  He was employed by S.C. Johnson for thirty-four years, retiring in 2011. An avid golfer, Gary belonged to the RoJo’s Golf League and treasured  time golfing with Charlie and Dawn.  He also enjoyed fishing trips at Lake Erie, traveling -- especially to Arizona, watching the White Sox, and socializing with friends at Rogers.  He will be dearly missed.

Survivors include his loving wife, Lorraine; his stepdaughter, Jenni Koll of Racine; mother, Shirley J. Barth of Phoenix, AZ; brothers and sister, Larry (Rose) Barth of Racine, Gail Kirby of Phoenix, AZ, Russell (Chrystal) Barth of Racine, Glen (Karen) Barth of Racine; his godson, Joshua Barth; mother-in-law, Lorraine Miller of Racine; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Jerry Miller of FL, Peter Miller of Racine, Diane (Dave) Fiebig of IN, John Miller of Racine; special friends, Jeff and Chris Bublavy -- “his girls”; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.  He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Barth.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 3, 2013, at 7 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Ronald J. Gramza officiating.   Relatives and friends may meet with the family Tuesday at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until time of service at 7 p.m. Memorials to the Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin or to one’s favorite charity have been suggested.
