Kim R. Bednar

Kim Richard Bednar, age 57, passed away on Saturday, August 17, 2013, at the Hospice House, Pleasant Prairie, WI.  Kim was born in Tacoma, WA, on December 19, 1955, son of Richard Bednar and LaVerne (Nee: Hengst) Bednar.

Kim was a graduate of J.I. Case High School “Class of 1974.”  He was employed by Winkler Heating for seven years and by J.F. Cook Overhead Door Company for thirty-three years.  Kim was a member of Local 344 and Flex Gym for thirty years.  He enjoyed trap shooting, deer hunting, motorcycles and working around the house where he took great pride in his yard.  He was a devoted and loving husband, father, son, brother and uncle who will be deeply missed.

Survivors include his son, Nicholas Bednar; his parents, LaVerne Bednar, Richard (Jean) Bednar; sister and brothers, Terri Rieker, Keith (Peggy) Bednar, Kurt Bednar; special Aunt Doris and Uncle Howard and cousin, Linda; mother of his son and good friend, Sharon Arthur; other relatives and many dear friends.  He was preceded in death by two infant daughters, Dana and Gina; his sister, Traci Murray; and his grandmother, Helen Schroeder.

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, August 22, 2013, at 6 p.m. at the funeral home.  Relatives and friends may meet with the family Thursday at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until time of service at 6 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family have been suggested.
