Betty L. (Harmel) Fredrick

Betty L. Fredrick, age 83, passed away on Sunday, February 16, 2014, at Villa Pines Living Center, Friendship, WI.  Betty was born in Racine on August 6, 1930, daughter of the late Carl and Doris (Nee:  Davidson) Harmel.

On July 1, 1950, in Racine she was united in marriage to Clarence C. Fredrick, who preceded her in death on February 18, 1980.  Betty was employed for the last ten years by Walgreens, previously working at Voorlas Manufacturing.  She was a member of Atonement Lutheran Church.  Betty had a great love for all animals, horses and dogs.  She enjoyed creating beautiful afghans for everyone.  Most of all she was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be deeply missed.

Survivors include her children, Clarence (Diane) Fredrick, Melody (Paul) Boyle, Larry (Donna) Fredrick, Dawn (Robert) Lemmer; 12 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy Corman, Carol Pederson ; sister-in-law, Gloria Harmel of Racine; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Betty Ann; brothers, Robert “Bud” Harmel, Howard Harmel, Clifford Harmel, Donald Harmel; and sister, Evelyn Sather.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2014, at noon at the funeral home with Rev. Dana O’Brien officiating.  Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery.  Relatives and friends may meet with the family on Thursday at the funeral home from 10:30 a.m. until time of service at noon.
