Thomas E. McCray

With his loving family by his side, Thomas E. McCray, age 52, passed away on Monday, February 17, 2014, at Wheaton Franciscan-All Saints Medical Center.  He was born in Racine on February 20, 1961, son of Patrick and Lorraine (Nee: Schwartz) McCray.

Thomas was united in marriage to Toni Vanella on February 12, 2000, in Las Vegas.  Throughout his career as a machinist, he was employed at various machine shops, last working at Motor Castings in Milwaukee.  He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.  He enjoyed traveling and was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing and camping.  Above all, he cherished time spent with his family and will be dearly missed.

Surviving are his wife, Toni; children, Jessica, Tommy, Kristina and Tyler; five grandchildren, Theresa, Janessa, Jazmyne, Carter and Levi; parents, Patrick and Lorraine McCray; sister, Debbie (John) Wasikowski; brothers, Patrick John (Cyndi) McCray and Tim McCray; sisters-in-law, Terri Vanella and Joette Vanella; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.  He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John (Alice) McCray, Jacob (Norma) Schwartz; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Joe (Harriette) Vanella.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday at the funeral home from 5-7 p.m. and on Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2201 Northwestern Ave.,  from 9 a.m. until 9:45 a.m.  A Mass will follow at 10 a.m. with Rev. Ricardo Martin officiating.
