Stoja (Tucakovic) Vukicevic

Stoja Vukicevic, age 87, passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2014, at the Becker-Shoop Center.  Stoja was born in Yugoslavia on January 13, 1927, daughter of the late Vladeta and Angelina (Nee:  Jankovic) Tucakovic.

On August 12, 1961, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Nikola Vukicevic.  He preceded her in death on October 15, 2010.   Stoja was employed by Racine United School District for twenty years.  She was a longtime member of St. George Serbian Orthodox Church.   Always generous at heart, Stoja sent countless care packages to needy families of all countries.  Her passion was tending to her bountiful flower and vegetable gardens.  Most of all, Stoja cherished time spent with her family.  She will be deeply missed.

Survivors include her daughter, Marija (James) Webers of Pleasant Prairie; son, Radivoje “Rudy” Vukicevic of Minneapolis, MN; grandchildren, Olivia and Michael Webers; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Velamirka Tucakovic, Yelica Tucakovic, both of Racine, Milan (Gordana) Vukicevic of Yugoslavia; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Family and friends may meet on Monday, February 24, 2014, at 9 a.m. at the funeral home for procession to St. George Serbian Orthodox Church, 826 State St., for funeral service at 10 a.m., with Rev. Dragan Mitrovic officiating.  Interment will follow at Most Holy Mother of God Cemetery, Third Lake, IL.  Visitation will be Sunday at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. with a Mali Pomen Service at 6 p.m.
