Ruby M. (Kidd) Brown

Ruby M. Brown, age 80, passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2014, at Manor Care, Kenosha, WI. Ruby was born in Quitman, Mississippi, on October 14, 1933, daughter of the late Henry and Frances (Nee: McGee) Kidd.

On August 2, 1947, she was united in marriage to Eddie C. Brown Sr.,  who preceded her in death on November 23, 1999.  They relocated to Racine in 1948.  Ruby was employed as a surgical assistant for thirty years at St. Luke’s Hospital, Racine.  She was a member of Better Way Ministries.  An excellent cook, Ruby also enjoyed singing.  More than anything she cherished time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.  She will be deeply missed.

Survivors include her sons, Eddie C. (Stacye) Brown Jr. of Milwaukee, Larry E. (Wylinda) Brown of Kenosha, Terry (Selethia) Gunn of Racine; 11 loving grandchildren; 22 loving great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; brother, Billie Kidd (Minnie) of Meridian, MS; sisters-in-law, Alvera Kidd of Hamilton, OH, Anna Ruth Kidd of Cincinnati, OH, Elvie Kidd of Savannah, GA, Minnie Kidd; brother-in-law, Henry Smith of Quitman, MS; nieces, nephews, a host of other relatives, and many dear friends.  In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Diana Brown; brothers, William, Howard (Bernice), Wildred, Arthur; sisters, Dorothy Kidd and Effie Kidd.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 21, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Kingdom Dominion Outreach Ministries, 1840 Howe St., with Bishop LeRoy Shanks officiating.  Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park.  Relatives and friends may meet with the family on Thursday at the funeral home from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. and Friday at the church from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m.  Memorials to Kingdom Dominion Outreach Ministries have been suggested.
