Thomas E. Turner Sr.

Thomas Elmer Turner Sr., age 86, passed away on Friday, February 21, 2014, at Boland Hall at Wisconsin Veterans Home, Union Grove.  He was born in Albany, WI, on December 12, 1927, son of the late Thomas and Ella (Nee: Thompson) Turner.

Thomas proudly served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII.  On October 20, 1945, he was united in marriage to Lorraine L. McClure, who preceded him in death on May 30, 1990.  Thomas was employed by Jacobsen Manufacturing Co. for many years, retiring as Chief Inspector in 1990.  He was a member of  Pentecost Lutheran Church.  He enjoyed boxing, fishing, polkas and playing cards, especially Schafskopf.  He will be dearly missed.

Surviving are his children, Paulette (Wesley) Davis of Janesville, WI, Thomas (Joan) Turner Jr. of Racine, five grandchildren, Eric Turner, Rebecca Davis, Michele Turner, Rachel (Brian) Beecher, Shannon Davis (Alex Hall); seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Faye Christensen of Racine, Marjorie (John) Wendt of Northern, WI;  brother, Eddie (Alice) Turner.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Harold (Joyce) Turner; and brother-in-law, Richard Christensen and his significant other, Lorraine Lekas.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 25, 2014, at noon at the funeral home with Reverend Luke Jacob officiating.   Private interment will be held at Mound Cemetery.  Relatives and friends may meet the family for visitation on Tuesday at 11 a.m. until time of service.
