Andrew “Andy” S. Jutrzonka passed away Saturday, February 6, 2010, at Lincoln Village Convalescent Center. Andrew was born in Oak Creek on November 30, 1922, to Stephen and Martha Jutrzonka.
Andrew was proud to serve our country during World War II in the United States Army, stationed in the Philippines with an Amphibious Tractor Unit. He was a member of the American Legion Post 0494 for many decades and was a charter member of the 658 Amphibious Tractor Bn Association founded August 19, 1989, in Milwaukee, WI. He enjoyed keeping up with the daily news, watching old time movies, gardening, putzing in the garage and meeting with friends.
Andrew is survived by his seven children, Leon (Linda) Jutrzonka, Ron (Judy) Jutrzonka, Steve (Sharon) Jutrzonka, Lynda Unglaub, Jeff Jutrzonka, Andy Jutrzonka, David (Christine) Jutrzonka; 12 grandchildren; great-grandchildren; sister, Anna Tischendorf of Oshkosh, WI; sisters-in-law, Dorothy and Ruth Jutrzonka; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and special friends from the “country,” Betty and Orv, Jerri and Buck, Bill and LaVerne, Marion and Fran, Jamie, Lois and many more. Andrew is also survived by his beloved Joy and her children, Dr. Steven (Linda) Nelsen of Saukville, WI, Mark (Kim) Nelsen and Greg Nelsen of Racine; grandchildren, Kaitlin and Brittany Nelsen, Ryan and Kara Nelsen (his Godchild); Joy’s brother and sister, Robert (Arlene) Ruttgers of Brookfield, WI, Barb (Tom) Grabowski of Racine; special friends, Robert (Barb) Nelsen of Racine, Elmer (Betty) Hallen of Kewaskum, WI. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by ten brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 11, 2010, at noon at the funeral home. Entombment with full military honors will follow at Holy Cross Garden Mausoleum, Hwy 32. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Thursday at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until time of service.
